He has blocked my Iron Starlette's (PS) final Wind-Up causing the fight to pretty much be over, however this does not happen often. I imagine an Iron Starlette with higher speed may not run into this issue, though I'm not positive. My script may increase RNG as this is only my second script I've written and I couldn't think of how to counter every situation where Ticker might use his cocoon. Leveling Pet: Safe for ANY Level 1+ Pet

For Pet Slot# 3: You can use either Stormborne or Nexus Whelpling, but I've had the best and most consistent luck with a Nexus Whelpling P/B breed due to the little bit of extra HP it has, which helps him go farther into the fight.

This worked fine for me just now using a H/H Starlette and a H/P NFD.

Suggesting a Level 1+ carry pet is a bit optimistic. :P The swap deals 250 Flying damage to the carry pet, and not even an Elekk Plushie has that. Level 5, or even 7+ to be safe from crits, would be more realistic.

I haven't done the numbers, but I can believe that the RNG of Tongue Lash and Slicing Wind might cause it to fail.

However, now that BfA battles give almost no levelling XP to carry pets anyhow, all the levelling strats are moot; it's not worth using then to level pets, so you might as well power through with three 25s and collect your Charms.

I've used this strat reliably many, many times. But as of 8.1, it no longer works. Failed 10 times in a row, and it's not even a close fight. They must have changed something.

I tried 5 times and lost every match, the opponent did not crit at any point so I wouldnt call this strat reliable!

Definitely not what I would call "reliable". It took me three tries to be able to win with this combo. Even ignoring the fact that my Faerie Dragon is P/P, my Starlette was fataled during the second set of Wind-Ups every time, meaning there wasn't even a chance to use Toxic Smoke even once, never mind spamming it. This gave Molaze at least an extra turn or two to beat up on my Faerie Dragon.

I think it comes down to the RNG of both Tongue Lash and Slicing Wind; if you get unlucky and get a string of three-hit Tongue Lashes and/or Slicing Winds, you're fairly screwed.

I think this is a good, reliable strat if you're using a full team of 25's -- Starlette, Faerie Dragon, and another magic pet -- but it's iffy for leveling.

Indeed, this is not reliable at all. The other team doesn't even need to crit, your starlette will 9 times out of 10 not make it to the 2nd windup. let alone toxic smoke.

Which breed of Iron Starlette were you using? I have repeated this tactic multiple times with P/B and it never died before 2nd Wind-Up.
Anyway I have updated the strategy to exclude P/P and P/S breed just in case.
