I don't think the 3rd pet can solo his 3rd leftovers in a straight fight so the third Leftovers needs some damage on him. I think it's still possible to win if Kid tanks the explode, but just try to avoid. Sometimes it's hard to predict the exact turn of explode but generally you want to wait until he is noticeably below 50%. If Leftovers #2 HP bar looks close to 50% just risk tanking the explode and hoof again. Obviously if they crit you every hit it may not work, but even slightly bad RNG works. this strategy does work but not the way you describe it.
even a P/S chitterspine won't be able to bring leftovers#1 into the undead phase at turn 3. mine critted once and still didn't deal enough damage. as a result it died getting leftovers#1 into the undead round and lil' bling got then hit by the last hit of L#1.

because there is no shattered defenses from swarm then lil' bling won't kill L#2 quite as fast and needs to use inflation again which then leads into L#3

the skitterbot then beats L#3 relatively easy but a crit from L#3 can mess you up so i'd recommend to play dodge>flurry>plating rather than 2xflurry. it makes the fight a lot safer in the end

these changes would also eliminate most of the rng (editado)

Yes, like the OP said there's a bit of rng with bone barrage hits, having done this many times I can tell you a skitterling is most of the time able to kill leftovers 1 with that combo and then even get a black claw + swarm on 2nd pet too before dying to the first punch, and at that point rest should work nicely, personally I like having skitterbot 2nd cause it's an excellent pet for both dps and survival in this fight, especially since the 2nd pet still has both debuffs at that point, and then I use a runeforged servitor cause he has a great combo for last pet in supercharge + call lightning, but most of the time I just need to pass on him cause the skitterbot already "killed" 3rd pet.

This is the most important part of the fight and why I don't think breed is super important. I don't think the 3rd pet can solo his 3rd leftovers in a straight fight so the third Leftovers needs some damage on him. I think it's still possible to win if Kid tanks the explode, but just try to avoid. Sometimes it's hard to predict the exact turn of explode but generally you want to wait until he is noticeably below 50%. If Leftovers #2 HP bar looks close to 50% just risk tanking the explode and hoof again. Obviously if they crit you every hit it may not work, but even slightly bad RNG works.
