Preparation is key!

PET NEWS - BY ARANESH
It is awefully quiet around Xu-Fu currently, my apologies. But there is a good reason for it.
Over time I want to include all major pet battle fights that are out there and provide my own strategies as well as good alternatives. To do so I gathered many ideas and created some rather adventerous team setups for opponents still missing and put everything into a long, long list. That document has reached more than 50 pages by now, ouch!

Every day now, I'm visiting some trainers to try out the teams, refining them and writing down finalized strategies.
It is a very lengthy process and often enough I have to level different pets to test new strategies. And yes, the Celestial Tournament is part of this process ;-)

You might ask yourself, why all this effort? And the answer is: Convenience.

There is little more frustrating than to look for good advice on how to beat a certain pet trainer just to learn that in practice, it just doesn't work out. Not with any bad intention from the one who wrote the piece of advice. Maybe there was a patch changing some abilities, or that person was not aware of the different pet breeds available. The success or failure of many strategies relies on the correct type of pet. I'm speaking of pet breeds now without ever mentioning it anywhere else on the page - and that is part of the convenience I'm speaking of.
When looking up a strat on here, I don't want you or myself to be concerned about all these things. I just want the strategy to work, no matter what breed you're using.

And that is why before I put a strategy up, I will test it, thoroughly.
Several repetitions, different breeds, if applicable I use the "worst" one to make sure it really makes no difference, limiting the amount of "if this then that" situations, making sure that RNG plays a minor role if possible.
At the same time I have the opportunity to refine steps. Sometimes it does make a small difference in what order you use spells. Even if you win either way, it might save you a round - and that means time!

As I said, it is a lengthy process to refine everything up to the point where I am satisfied with the quality of a team setup. But I believe it is worth it. Because in the end, I want www.WoW-Petguide.com to be a great resource for all kind of people. Veteran pet battlers who might look for new inspirations, but also new battlers who need guidance, or those who just don't want to be bothered with getting addons and certain breed types.

So I hope you excuse the long time it takes for updates and new strategies, but we're getting there!
