Clearly, it does work, because we see comments below from people who got it to work.

It is clearly marked RNG, so you should not expect it to work first time.

There are several people who investigate reports of problems with strategies on Xu-Fu's. There are designated Strategy Curators, and other regulars who read comments and are interested in the latest.

In my experience, when people leave a short "It didn't work" note, they usually made a mistake. Maybe they used a pet with the wrong Speed, maybe they didn't do a Pass where it was indicated, sometimes they were even using the team and strat from a completely different battle. :)

Sometimes there genuinely is a problem with the strat. This is where the Curators and others come in, checking the strat for weaknesses, and fixing it or removing it if it can't be fixed.

Since most failure reports with no details are wrong, it's not good to waste people's time investigating them. Instead, help them by providing the information they need.

If the strat failed for you, and you want your comment to be taken seriously:

1. Specify EXACTLY which species and breeds you used.

2. Specify whether you read the strategy from the site and executed it manually, or downloaded and used the tdScript.

3. Specify EXACTLY where the first unexpected thing happened, the first thing that deviated from what the strat predicts. What died too early? What didn't die when it was supposed to? What attack missed?

4. If possible, provide a log. You can see your log in the Pet Battle tab of your chat box. You can pull that out, make it bigger, screenshot it. Better still, you can use the addon Battle Pet Log Keeper from Curseforge, and do /pblk and Save Battle when the battle you want to log is complete.

Almost any strat can fail to a really unlucky string of crits, and some difficult challenge strats like the Family ones may fail more than anyone likes, but the people behind this site do their best to promote well-working strats. Do your part. Provide useful information.

This worked as written, but took some crazy good luck. Essentially you need Star Tail to have a lot of misses on both your Roach and your Snail to have this work. Took me about 20 tries, experimenting with how/when to swap between pets. (FYI I had H/S Nether Roach, P/P Blind Rat and H/H Scooter the Snail)

The rounds don't work out, roach at the end often comes in with 3+ rounds left for apoc and is one shot.

This strategy is very unlikely to succeed. Even with fortuitous RNG, Scooter is almost never above 500 hp when Needlenose comes in. Can only get Acidic Goo before dying if he even survives the first cast of Toxic Fumes. Needlenose handily beats the Blind Rat with 4 rounds left on Apocalypse. Tried three dozen attempts and not one worked.

Definitely RNG involved with that first enemy pet's ability having the chance to miss. I won after 3 tries and 2 of my pets alive by the end. On my third attempt my Scooter had much more HP than the guide said so I was able to relax a bit at the end. Thank you! (edited)
