I've tested this quite a few times. It hasn't failed for me, but there is always a chance of bad RNG. Make sure that your leveling pet is tough enough to take Pounder's backrow damaging abilities.
P.S. I have no idea how to write the script for this. Sorry. Feel free to comment if you want to write it for me. :)

Tried 3x with mag crawdad and it only worked once I put lvl 20 rare emerald proto whelp as my 3rd. And even then it was very close!
