There are already other strats with pets that work, but I was surprised to see this pet not represented in any of them. Very easy, done in 16 rounds.

Updated with TD Script, since I learnt how to do it since publishing this strategy.

Great strat! Love it so much more than the one that uses 2x Squirky's.

Dox

rédigé le 2024-04-12 15:25:04

Still works perfectly, one attack from the first backline pet and Yu'la's dead.

Spinosaurus

rédigé le 2024-03-14 07:28:15

Strat worked for me, I think where people are failing is if they lower Yula's HP via a crit too fast procing the dragonkin passive before they have their stun off CD, and this will cause them to eat more dmg than anticipated, but by that point it's an easy clean-up for any humanoid (I have Bébé Winston and Baoh Xi in reserve just incase)

Just finally won this after 10+ failed attempts with all other posted Xu-fu strats that I have the pets for. Soloed with Squirky first try?!?! I hate it when patches mess with pet battle strats!
So I used the rotation from here with #1 prio: clobber, #2 prio: bubble after lift-off, and punch fill in.

CharlyCat rédigé le 2022-12-13 20:00:40

This would be an excellent strat for Plushie. PT almost won. Needed one hit from Anub.

riEteRMYCHEa

rédigé le 2023-04-08 23:23:33

There's no reason to use Plushie, the achievement doesn't require defeating the 4 Celestials with it.

Used my 2nd pet for 2 rounds, otherwise Puddle Terror took care of business. Great strat. TY

Hisui rédigé le 2022-08-14 10:01:41

There's no way Puddle Terror solos it anymore, but you can make it guaranteed by: Put 2/2/2 Unborn Val'kyr first and get the damage buff ready for Puddle Terror. Time it out such that Yu'la's shield buff wears off when switching.

As of 9.1.5 I was able to solo this with Puddle. I did put in Squiky as suggested and Idol for my third, but I did not need them. Thank you. Great strategy

LilSam#11461

rédigé le 2021-09-21 08:10:20

Used puddle terror (P/S) backed up by Squirky (B/B). Followed strat listed here for both pets (except bubble instead of dive)

VladTepis

rédigé le 2021-07-13 20:57:23

Just tested this out and Puddle Terror dropped it down so it took only 1 crush from Anubisath

Jester#1736

rédigé le 2021-04-14 13:48:24

My puddle terror did not solo the fight and my other two random pets also got killed, resulting in a complete fail and had to restart the entire thing. I used Squirky as suggested, and also Moonkin Hatchling since they both have the same first two skills as puddle terror. (edited)

VanyaMia

rédigé le 2020-11-15 08:04:20

Puddle Terror soloed for me with a good chunk of health left. If in doubt do as was previously recommended and use Squirky who has still appears to be faster than Yu'la and so can probably use Bubble instead of Dive. Haven't tested it but the extra dodge probably compensates for the lack of damage.

DenL

rédigé le 2020-10-26 22:48:13

Breath hits for 505 each time. Without crits from puddle you will not be able to kill Yu'la before he kills you, unless he misses.

(OP) Berendain

rédigé le 2020-10-29 11:09:33

My Puddle Terror soloed Yu'la today, so it is still possible after 9.0. However, it used to be very rare that the Puddle Terror would NOT solo the fight. As a lot of people are confirming that their Puddle Terror is now dying with Yu'la on low HP, I've adjusted the strategy to use any humanoid in the second slot.

VanyaMia

rédigé le 2020-11-15 07:58:02

Agreed. Puddle Terror soloed for me too with a good chunk of health left.

Neverfade#1803

rédigé le 2020-11-14 20:14:24

SL pre-patch, Puddle Terror died and Yu'la had exactly 5 HP left. Finished him off with another Punch using Curious Wolvar Pup (though of course any rare 25 humanoid with Punch would have worked). (edited)

Dastca

rédigé le 2020-11-14 15:05:44

Works very well, using Squirky as the humanoid pet is also a fantastic idea since its the same abilities as the Puddle Terror. Good strat.

rédigé le 2020-11-08 07:37:56

This didn't work for you? Why? What exactly went wrong?

The old Mr Bigglesworth strat still mostly works but needs an appropriate second pet to finish off since the SL prepatch https://wow-petguide.com/?Strategy=154

Ozzyofrivia

rédigé le 2020-11-05 13:36:15

I threw Squirky in here because he has similar abilities to puddle terror, punch and clobber as well as bubble. And he's cute!!!

rédigé le 2020-11-01 16:13:49

Wonderful strat. Puddle Terror nearly solo'd it. Had my 2nd pet use two attacks to finish it.

Antares9

rédigé le 2020-10-31 16:13:38

Best back up pet humanoid:

Bonkers ( 1 2 2 ) .

Tornado punch on CD, dodge when she is in air, jab as filler.

Mynx rédigé le 2020-10-26 17:06:08

This didn't work for me, she killed my Puddle Terror every time :(

Mynx rédigé le 2020-10-26 17:23:58

Ok so for some reason the 4th time it worked >.<
I decided to bolster the team with two Anubisath Idols that I didn't need in the end xD

Enderes#1241

rédigé le 2020-10-16 14:23:19

This strat always worked for me before, but first time using it after the pre-patch, my puddle terror actually died. Fortunately I planned ahead and chose humanoid backups. Won with a Body Slam from Crusher.

Gibbwin

rédigé le 2020-10-19 14:30:14

Likewise worked before for me but since the 9.0.1 pre-patch my Puddle Terror dies before Yu'La. Was able to finish it with an attack from a humanoid pet as well.

(OP) Berendain

rédigé le 2020-10-20 00:47:19

There are two ways for Puddle Terror to die when using this strat. 1 is that Yu'la lands two critical hits with Jade Breath, which is extremely rare. The other is if you low roll on both of your dives and do low damage. In that instance, Yu'la should have around 20 health left and can be finished off with whatever pets you have slotted.

If the first situation happens to you, then I'm very sorry for your remarkably bad luck. Yu'la should have <500 health in that instance, so while any random two level 25 pets should be able to kill her, but slotting something strong against Dragonkin into your team may save you time if you ever encounter this rare situation.

I've never had to use another pet until I tested the strategy today, and Yu'la killed my Puddle Terror with 19 health left. Not a problem, but I'm not sure how the prepatch could have affected this strategy. Maybe the damage variance of Dive was changed? Or maybe the three of us have just been unlucky this week? (edited)

I had the same issue, Puddle Terror died before Yu'la. But one attack from Baa'l (Murder the Innocent) finished the fight.
