Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Because Aranesh's original Teroclaw Hatchling strategy was improved upon by Fem here, this has been updated with the same intention as the original strategy.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Well, after turn 1 when my Direbeak was swapped in, I hit the wrong button and did warning squawk first then followed with swarm. Direbeak didn't die, instead my Teroclaw was swapped in so I decided to go with it anyway and see what happens. Used Teroclaw's ravage right away and 2 hits later Snozz was dead. So I guess even if you mess up like me, the pets are strong enough to survive, plus this was a lot faster! (SL prepatch)

I made the exact same error... and it worked better than original strat.

Brilliant. I read comments when i realised the fight was not panning out quite as written in the strategy. Your modification worked perfectly. Hate this fight!

Raigar

Awesome! This version of the strat still works.

Oakwarden

TDScript for above comment.
ability(Rip:803)
ability(Warning Squawk:1772)
ability(Falcosaur Swarm!:1773)
ability(Claw:429)

The pets shown don't correspond to the strategy... looks like you changed the steps based on a different pet. Bloodgazer vs Sharptalon...?

Prudentius

TD Script

ability(Rip:803)
ability(Predatory Strike:518)
ability(Falcosaur Swarm!:1773)

No need to overcomplicate it.

Add claw in there and it works 9.0
In fact the turn order comes out quite different from the strat posted, but this TD worked great. (edited)

Ikky X/1/1 + Ji-Kun Hatchling X/2/1 + Flying with less than 1465 HP

Ikky- Black Claw
Ji-Kun Hatchling- Acid Goo -> Flock

If Snooz is still alive, finish with whatever.

Lulu wrote on 2020-11-05 16:02:10

Only Strat that worked for me. Thanks for this.

huldu

wrote on 2020-10-14 18:50:08

This no longer works as of SL pre-patch. For it to work it requires a big crit. EDIT: I switched out the last Bloodgazer Hatchling for a Teroclaw(1,1,2). I proceeded the fight as above except when teroclaw got in I used 2 claw, then dodge, then 2 claw. That worked. (edited)

Thanks a bunch, I made those changes to the strategy :)

Anonymous wrote on 2017-10-19 23:18:50

Didn't have the pets used in the strategies, just used Turkey Gilnean Raven Ikky. Turkey Flock, Raven darkness then nocturnal strike, alpha strike until dead. Finish with black claw to flock from ikky

Worked perfectly! Long-Eared Owl and Northern Hawk Owl also work for the Darkness, Nocturnal Strike combo

The strat works fine, but the script is incorrect. Script starts out with Falcosaur Swarm on sharptalon, anyways ended up in a loss both times i tried it.

Thordros#1784

wrote on 2017-12-18 18:44:29

The TD Script for Strategy #1 is for a different team. This script will work correctly:

ability(Rip) [round=1]
ability(Predatory Strike)
ability(Falcosaur Swarm!)
change(next)

Dox

This script works. The one saved to the team does not.

Priessa

I did this with Sharptalon Hatchling, Stormwing, and Ikky. Rip, Predatory Strike, Call Lighting, Flock, Black Claw, Flock

Thi

I didn't have a Sharptalon, so I subbed in Chi-Chi to use Wild Magic on turn 1. Worked perfectly.

I love strategies like this - short and effective. Thank you!

Zebriel wrote on 2018-04-21 17:04:18

I think where it says "Falcosaur Swarm! until your Direbeak Hatchling dies" it should say "gets swapped out" instead of "dies".

Beautiful strategy! The battle ended after Predatory Strike, and all of my pets still had well over 50% health left. I really enjoy battling with my falcosaurs. I love their entire storyline. They were fun to collect. and fun to battle with. Thanks for the strategy & the site, XuFu.

I used same team but when direbeak came in after initial swarm he did the predator strike and was still alive when swapped out then bloodgazer had to only do a swarm to kill snozz was much easier and alot quicker.

Lisma wrote on 2017-12-25 17:58:43

A bit different tactics. It's faster and all pets stay alive.

Flying Team:
Snowfeather Hatchling (S/S) - 1, x, x
Sharptalon Hatchling (P/P) - 1, 2, 1
Bloodgazer Hatchling (P/S) - x, x, 1

Snowfeather Hatchling:
1 - Falcosaur Swarm!, Sharptalon Hatchling swapped in

Sharptalon Hatchling:
1 - Rip
2 - Predatory Strike
3 - Falcosaur Swarm!, Bloodgazer Hatchling swapped in

Bloodgazer Hatchling:
1 - Predatory Strike
