The patch is live and with it the usual suspects - API problems ^^
Importing or updating your pet collection from the armory currently returns zero pets. This is an issue on Blizzards side and we'll need to wait until it's been addressed.
In the meanwhile, it's the perfect opportunity to build some better error messages in so you know what's going on when trying to update your collection :-)
i'm getting an error importing my pets ever since 8.2.5 dropped.
When i try & update my collection, i get an orange error box telling that there was a problem & to log out of my Xu-Fu account and log back in with Battle.net, which i do, but i still get the same error message.

That is where your Rematch teams are saved.
If your Rematch teams are disappearing, that file is either being deleted, not being written, or in some way corrupted so it can't be read,
Check out that file when you log out. Then log in, create a team, log out and see what's there after. I've never heard of this specific problem, but it has to be around that file.
Maybe try deleting that file while logged out, and Rematch will start a new one when you log in.
Are you using any automated addon updater like the curse client? I've heard before that some of them or wrong settings in them result in a full re-import of your addons (incl. settings and teams) whenever you start WoW. Perhaps that helps in tracking down the reason!

I give up.... I can't seem to sort out anything with Xu Fu and WoW. Can someone explain it ti a barely computer literate dude how to get my pet list back?
It will be back, without you doing anything, when Blizzard have fixed their API.
If you really, really, feel you need to access your list before that, you can try the workaround that others have said worked for them.
1. Find a character on your account level 10 or above (or it is 20 and above? 20 is safe, anyway) that you haven't logged in to since 8.2.
2. Go into your Account page here, Pet Collection, and change the character connected to your account with the "Change Character" button, low on the left hand side.
Don't log in to that character until Blizzard have fixed it!
The only buttons I've got on my "Pet Collection" page (https://www.wow-petguide.com/?page=collection) on the lower-left side are "Update Now" and "Change Region". There's no "Change Character" button. In case it matters, I'm on the EU region.
I think that happens if you are linked by Battle.net, and a character was chosen automatically, so you never made a deliberate choice yourself. I think.
Kaerei below suggests Go to Menu>Tools>Pet Collection Viewer>Select new character.
That only works for viewing the collection. It doesn't update the collection on your account, for purposes of promoting different strategies after obtaining new pets etc.
Sorry if this comes out as too negative. It's not that big a deal; they'll fix the API eventually. I just wanted to understand why I don't have the "Change Character" button. Thanks for clarifying!
Yeah, some people haven’t been able to import a new character, and will just have to use “view collection” until the API is fixed. Good to know why now, though!
Okay, so here is how I got around the glitch. I updated (imported) my pets, with a character who I have not logged into since before the latest patch. It had to be one who had not set foot in the waters of 8.2. I hope this helps someone.
