I don't have an Enchanted Broom so I managed to get it to work with Brightpaw 1 2 1 (sorry, know he's from the shop but might help somebody else who has the pet and Brightpaw did kill Whirly in second round using Prowl followed by Arcane Dash), Animated Cruor 2 2 1, and finishing off with Zur'aj as recommended. I used Psychic Blast though as found it more effective. (edited)

Worked great!! thanks!! used Lesser voidcaller for third pet with prismatic barrier and nether blast. Oily slimeling and Trailblazer died at the same time so used prismatic barrier, pass, and a few nether blasts to finish off Whirly.

Yes, for this set of Family achievements the pets need to be lvl 25 for it to count. The quality of the pet, while assumed to be Rare by the strat, does not factor into the achievement. :)

I used an H/H Oily Slimeling for pet #2 and it managed to bring Whirly all the way to its undead round before dying. My Hyjal Wisp (subbing for a level 1 Zur'aj) just used Evanesce when it came in, even though it probably wasn't even needed since only death coil was up.

I dont have Zut'aj, so I used Enchanter Pen (1-1-1) which works just fine with its Evanescence.

I did this as part of my magic family for this fight, and it worked fine. You'll need to be more detailed than that to indicate if there's a problem with the strat.

After turn 5 I had to use Broom once to finish off Stinkdust.

I didn't have Zur'aj leveled so I substituted an Energized Manafiend (1/1/2). Use Arcane Blast instead of Phase Punch, Amplify Magic during Trailblazer's UD round (if needed), and otherwise proceed as normal.
