After having tried the first alternative and failing, then choosing Swamp Croaker and a moth and failing that too, not having your remaining suggested pet at either lvl 25 or at all, I found on wowhead a strategy that would allow me to have the Elekk Plushie with me for the achievement, I used a Garden Frog (H/B) with 1-1-2 and Axebeak Hatchling (B/B) with 1-1-1. I honestly can't describe in detail when I used which abilities, as I was more interested in beating this particular trainer than to notice other stuff... However I did swap in the Elekk Plushie after Monte used Borrow so the Elekk could soak the dmg from Burrow.
Being able to heal a bit here and there as well as using Lift-Off on the Axebeak payed off.

I'm sorry I'm unable to further explain when I used which ability.
Perhaps you'd be interested in playing around with these particular 2 pets a they're easy to get.. Both the Frog and Axebeak I used are easy to get to especially when lvl'ing pets.
