Tested with an H/H Effluence du Vide.

Second pet doesn't really matter much, any pet with a spammable direct damage ability will work. Frequently found that Effluence du Vide would just kill Splint by themselves.

I agree with Grainne, that a pet in slot #2 that isn't weak to the critter damage might be more survivable to the attacks in case of crits. That said, the strat worked just fine, and there's always the third pet, just in case. :)

There is at least one automatic alternative pet that doesn't have Horion de l’ombre in slot 1. I'd strongly suggest to not use slot-based abilities.

Bonus points for the Voidwiggler!

I have only a B/B Voidwiggler - must get a better breed - and it worked fine.

With all those Flurries comeing from Splint, though, I'd maybe favour a Humanoid with Undead attacks, like Sister of Temptation.

Hah, i guess i should've read your comment first before i made my comment, because i just recommended Sister of Temptation as well, because of the Critter defense and Undead spells, i swapped her in to reward the hard word my Voidwiggler did with a Haunting Song, but i noticed how well she kept going with the heals and shadow attacks.

Strat worked great with a H/H Voidwiggler.
It had done so well, that i didn't want to let it die, so i swapped in a Sister of Temptation to do a Haunting Song and heal it a bit, and while doing so, i noticed that Splint's attacks also did less damage to Humanoids, so maybe SoT is quite good with her UD spells and high defense against Flurry attack.

Nice strat. Once Splint is below 420 health you can also use Ghostly Bite to finish him off.
