This still works as of 26/10/2020 first crab as P/P got through first 2 pets and most of the 3rd, brought Chrominius in used Howl and Surge and it was over (editado)

It might be accounting for breed but a P/P Emperor Crab can almost solo the entire fight by just using Surge and Whirlpool on CD after Rockbiter dies (no need to refresh Mists). Crab died with Acidtooth at 500 health and Chrominius just had to come in and Surge of Power.

After testing this a couple of times, I've found you only need to Bite once when Acidtooth comes in, not twice. His health is 1563, as shown here: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=85679/acidtooth Bite does plenty enough to reduce it below 1480. If he's below that health, Howl / Surge of Power is a guaranteed kill.

Could have probably soloed this with the emperor crab. Keeping up the whirlpool, surge, renewing mists rotation. I was trying to get that last level on another pet though.
Only 50 xp so wasn't really worth it. Without bonuses of course.
Maybe just good rng today :-)

Creepy Crate (122) does well with these guys. I have three creepy crates so I used all three. Two of them takes out the whole team. Keep curse of doom on rockbiter. Use bonestorm when he is underground. Fill with creepy chomp. The next two pets are easily killed with creepy chomp. Maybe a good strat would be start off with emperor crab and finish with creepy crate.

I ran with strand crab (green), landro's lichling then finished most of the other two . could have got by with a high level but not max level third pet as they only needed to do about 200 damage to finish it off.

On your strategy here after bringing Chromnius out on the second enemy pet instead of using Howl + Surge of Power, I went with Howl + Bite, another Bite x2 on the the last enemy pet and then Howl + Surge of Power to kill the last one off.
Mind you, the last enemy pet had just around 882hp left, but it worked fine.

25 hydraling from spires of arak. Use moves 1 2 1
1) Use deep bite x2
2) Once Rockbiter dives, use shell armor
3) Use deep bite until he dies
4) When stonechewer comes out, use deep bite
5)When he casts shell armor, you cast it too
6) Spam deep bite until he's dead
7)Use deep bite as a filler on acidtooth, using shell armor when it's up
8) This strat worked for me 30 times in a row, so I'm sure it will work for you!
*helpful note - if the enemy is below 25% hp, use swallow you whole instead of deep bite
HPs are as follows: rockbiter 451, stonechewer 370, acidtooth 390

P.S . what i did with graves is - Grave Destruction > Bone Storm > Pass > Skull Toss x2 > Bone Storm > Grave Destruction ( at this point Stone and Acid will die or will be super low health ) .

Hey Geris! Thanks for the suggestion :-)
Graves is indeed a very powerful pet, but it is a long grind to get it for those not into HotS (like me^^). I tend to not include pets that are very hard to get as much as possible, so I'm not going to include the strategy here. Sorry if it's a disappointment, but if you have any other suggestions for teams or strategies, I'm always super happy to try them out!

Hi there.Since my hydraling is only lvl 10 and i dont have emperor crab,i tried Graves ( 1.1.2 ) and it did wonders.By the time Graves dies, 2 backline pets ( stonechewer and acidtooth ) will be dead or left with ~50 hp, chrominus or nexus whelp will take care of rockbitter.

A 2 pet alternative team: Pandaren water spirit (1,2,2) and stitched pup (1,2,1).
Geyser, whirlpool, pass, water jet (x2-3) untill rockbiter dies, stonechewer comes in, jet, geyser, whirlpool, jet, water spirit dies, bring in stiched pup, infected bite, stonechewer dies, acidtooth comes in, howl, infected bite x2.

Looking around for strats, I found a very simple single-pet one on Wowhead.

Hydraling with Deep Bite, Swallow you Whole, and Shell Shield (Shell Shield on round 3 and on CD thereafter, Swallow when opponent is below 25%) solos or nearly solos this trio. Running the numbers quickly, depending on breed and a little RNG, it's not guaranteed to solo, but at worst it will leave the the the third pet at low health.

P.S. I imagine almost any pet would do for the third slot; Stonechewer was hanging by a thread in all four of my tries by the time I brought out the Whelpling.

Tested. It worked for me with both a P/P and a H/H Crab. The only notable difference was that the P/P crab didn't get the Surge in on Turn 9 because the opponent was already dead.

This strat seems nice, exact, and not prone to RNG.
