I found the above to not work very well for me. I will admit to not having all of the above.. But I was using a Mirror Strider and dancing water skimmer X2. Failed 3 times.
What I ended up using was
Tundra Penguin - 2,1,1
Emperor Crab - 1,1,1
Mirror Strider - 1,2,2.
I found using this setup each pet clears its target plus gives 1 to 2 attacks on your next target.
Emperor crab can be timed that when the rat is about to go invulnerable to cast renewing mists. This gives your mirror strider a little assistance going into the next round...
No tricks really.. straight muscle.

We now just need to know when Remy (second pet) uses his Invincibility ability, maybe below 30-35% health, and when Emperor brings him first to those values, its safe to bring the leveling pet in, as the mice won't attack, and instead use his 'I will not die' ability, then the crab back.

Shell Shield mitigates all dot effects.
Keep Renewing Mists up,
Snap when not applying the other two abilities
First crab took out his first two pets and got the 3rd below half health, 2nd crab finished the job.

Aqua Strider (1,2,2), Emperor Crab (2,2,2), other aquatic.
Strider takes out all or most of Gasteau and dies. Crab uses whirlpool when available, surge otherwise, and healing wave when below 900 hp. Whirlpool might hit a bubble at some point but still works.
