Sticking with AoE attacks lets you kill the back rank so they never get into the fight. This means you won't be faced with any AoE attacks and can use this with any Level pet that can take a single hit from Corporal Hammer (550 Mech).

Breed
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 5+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

I still avoid this one. I use broot and singing sunflower and the crab..and i end up killing them first - but the ticks get me in the end

I found it was a little faster with two different pets both with Photosynthesis and Sunlight. However as often as not that kills both his last two pets on the same round. So I use the strategy outlined by Wildcard, and bring in the carry at the very start of the fight, rather than just at the end.

Tried in Shadowlands - and it worked perfect at least once for me :)

Nice team. With the hat on a L11 pet still got just short of 5K XP too. Worked fine with script below by Wildcard.

Here's an updated TDScript for Environeer Bart*:

Pet Slots:
Slot 1: Singing Sunflower (HB - 1/1/2)
Slot 2: Lava Crab (BB - 1/2/2)
Slot 3: Leveling Pet

TDScript:
change(#3) [enemy(#2).dead & enemy(#3).dead & !self(#3).played]

change(#1) [self(#3).active & self(#3).played & !self(#1).dead]

change(#2) [self(#3).active & self(#3).played & self(#1:291).dead]

if [self(#1).active]
use(Lash:394) [enemy(Corporal Hammer:2068).hp<=207 &enemy(#2).dead & enemy(#3).dead]
use(Sunlight:404)
use(Photosynthesis:268)
endif

if [self(#2).active]
use(Burn:113) [enemy(Corporal Hammer:2068).hp<500 &enemy(#2).dead & enemy(#3).dead]
use(Cauterize:173)
use(Magma Wave:319)
endif

*Please note this is a LONG fight at upwards of 33 rounds on average, but with the TDScript above you can just sit back and relax! ;)

Did this without any of my pets dying.

I used Singing Sunflower instead of Broot, but in essence the same.
Turn 1: Swap in level pet (Sunflower gets swapped back in)
(from here swapping continues between flower and crab)
Turn 2: Sunlight
Turn 3: Magma Wave
Turn 4: Photosynthesis
Turn 5: Cauterize
From there, use Sunlight and Cauterize on cooldown, fill with Photosynthesis and Magma Wave, Respectively. Never used the slot 1 abilities.

Took a total of 32 turns, M-37 never even made it on the battle field, so no annoying debuffs either.

I can't understand why my background pets take damage in 1st round. Battle log says nothing about them taking damage but the do. I guess that's why a 550 HP level pet isn't enough.

skarth73

wrote on 2019-03-01 13:14:30

They don't take damage, their total health grows because of "sunlight" but their actual health doesn't, so it looks like they have taken damage.

Vàrgas

wrote on 2019-03-03 06:12:16

Ofc. Thank you.

skarth73

wrote on 2019-03-01 13:19:30

Great strategy, but you have to watch that the Background and the main pet aren't killed all together, so you can't switch to the Level pet. To make sure that doesn't happen, switch to the Levelpet first, then let it be swapped and finish the fight like said above.

Anon wrote on 2019-02-11 16:32:59

550+ for the leveling pet is clearly out of date as of today. I tried many pets between 550 and just under 700 HP, all of which were one-shot when brought to the line according to the notes given. Be advised and try something with 750+ HP to be certain of getting the likely not-worth-the-effort XP.

Broot Sunlight and Photosynthesis than get his counterpart Blossoming Ancient inthere, also same tac... Sunlight and Photosynthesis.
backrgound pet lvl 5 and up to get in 1 round were it take's some damadge, it wil be switched back for broot , so the twin tree's can finish this fight.
100% works for me evry time.

HughGrection wrote on 2019-01-25 12:26:11

Level 5 pets do not work here ...

(OP) MuffinManKen

wrote on 2019-01-29 17:51:58

They need 550+ Health, as noted. Some breeds of pets would need to be higher level.

Quintette wrote on 2018-10-20 06:10:30

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but for me this didn't work at all. For Broot, all fine and dandy, but my Lava Crab did not get any cast in, because it kept getting swapped and clobbered all the time. I went in with a level 19 levelling pet and that also got killed.

(OP) MuffinManKen

wrote on 2018-10-24 03:50:56

My guess is the Lava Crab was too slow. This won't work with the HH breed. I've updated the Team Info to reflect that.

Ezrianne wrote on 2019-01-05 17:34:04

I'm having trouble too, even with an H/S. I finally decided Uncommon breed must not be fast enough so I upgraded it to Rare, but I already beat the quest today with my Pandaren Fire Spirit so I guess I'll have to check tomorrow to see if it helped. I looked at Bert's pet's Wowhead page to see if my Lava Crab was faster now, but it doesn't list his stats.

Avoid leveling a beast family here. After 30 rounds I swap in my level 20 beast with 1010hp, got smacked with a 1235 crit during swap.

Erus wrote on 2018-10-23 21:59:46

Worked very well with Pandaren Fire Spirit. Takes very long though; since main aim is to clear the bench pets of the opponent before switching to leveling pet and killing the first, which is also the last at that point, enemy pet.

(OP) MuffinManKen

wrote on 2018-10-24 17:05:42

The Pandaren Fire Spirit does work well here. Which is better (Fire Spirit vs Lava Crab) comes down to Breed. Crab:BB > Fire Spirit > Crab:HS. The higher power not only means you do more damage but your heal is bigger too.
