Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Misma familia
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Crucco#2928

Absolutely wrong to use a Flying pet as the second pet. TBH Teroclaw Hatchling is highly overrated for this dungeon, so is the Brilliant Kaliri in the other strat. Use something with a dragonkin attack instead

Out of curiosity why use Thunderbolt with the Dragonling? It does about ~250 damage (instead of the listed ~550 damage). Doing Breath causes more damage. Wasn't sure if there was a particular reason or anything.

Xarx escrito el 2021-07-18 16:49:28

Thunderbolt has a steady constant damage which this boss divides in half. Breath has a less consistent RANGE of damages divided in half. Over time, statistically Thunderbolt will show better results bc its basic damage is at the top of end of Breath's *potential max damage*. The different is only likely within 10-20hp in the long run but that's the mathematical reason if you were genuinely curious.

Dragonling Soloed, works in shadowlands. I used a waterfly for third pet cause Im paranoid but didnt need it at all.

Taizun

escrito el 2020-10-31 02:59:51

"If you are unlucky, bring in your Teroclaw Hatchling and use Dodge + Alpha Strike"

And if you're really unlucky, you get stunned at just the worst moments + opponent gets enough crits that you end up with the third random pet on the field trying to finish the fight... Which is terrible when it's randomised, because there's no control over it then.

This strat definitely needs to be updated with a proper third pet, in case of bad RNG.

HA! Glad to see the comments again.
4 times we use Teroclaw Hatchling in this dungeon. That might have been a mistake?

DragonsAfterDark

escrito el 2020-06-20 01:40:10

They are likely all strats from different people. When they come from different people, they don't have to observe pet usage from other strategies.

somarir escrito el 2020-06-20 08:10:17

The teroclaw is just too good. It will stay full HP for the full dungeon if you use it right.

Carrotz

escrito el 2020-08-12 23:27:33

Somarir is correct. I've used these strategies with the same Teroclaw and he's nearly full health the entire time.

Naraani escrito el 2020-04-21 01:57:28

Or....if you don't have any of these, you can start with emerald proto, which gets knocked out, swap to nexus whelpling, use arcane storm which makes food coma useless. I used 1 emerald proto and 2 nexus. they all lived:)

Trog

escrito el 2019-01-04 16:56:38

Used a Zandalari Kneebiter as 2nd pet, with script:

standby [ self.aura(926).exists & self.speed.fast ]
ability(334)
ability(779)
ability(115)
change(#2)
ability(Black Claw:919) [!self.aura(Black Claw:918).exists]
ability(Hunting Party:921)
ability(Leap:364)

iceshayde

escrito el 2019-10-11 13:52:36

This strat works perfect for me... but TD script should use:
ability(Black Claw:919) [!enemy.aura(Black Claw:918).exists]
Currently it's checking for black claw on you, not the enemy.

Berrt

I use Hyjal Wisp as my spare pet. After MPD takes the first sleep & has roughly 650 HP left, I bring in my Wisp - Evanescence & Wish, then bring back the MPD whose Decoy is available again to use straight away. Decoy brushes off the next Sleep attempt & Wish 'blooms' on MPD & finish the fight on 80+% HP. Ok, it adds to the fight, but feels good!

Angelakane escrito el 2019-06-10 16:33:19

My level 19 snail got 339 exp with hat - not worth it imo

Berendain

escrito el 2019-01-05 11:25:11

What a boring boss. Nothing against the strat, just a let down when compared to Wailing Caverns and Gnomeregan. The last two bosses of the other dungeons can be killed without significant trouble using unique or interesting strategies, but this boss is just beaten by standard strong pets that do damage.

Dor escrito el 2019-01-01 01:26:21

I used Twilight Clutch Sister for my backup instead of Teroclaw, with Phase Shift and Tail Swipe. MPD almost carries anyway, and then you don't have to be so careful with Teroclaw earlier.

MolsonofAle escrito el 2018-12-31 23:52:27

Usually when I see a 5 and 8 round cool down on a move and the strat says "use on cool down" i laugh. You don't usually get to use those again. On this however I did. MPD still didn't survive the fight but the Teroclaw finished it.

Hassilhoff escrito el 2018-11-28 13:37:51

I used Darkmoon Zepplin and Darkmoon Tonk
Missle until leftovers second round of stun, then decoy and missle until Darkmoon zepplin respawns. Then explode, finish him off with Darkmoon tonks Ion ability.

Corgi

escrito el 2018-09-05 12:27:28

My problem with the string of battles here is that you use the Teroclaw Hatchling 5 times, and we're only allowed 3.

Corgi

escrito el 2018-09-05 12:37:23

Correction, 6!

Amber1019

escrito el 2018-09-29 17:07:32

I was still able to use the alternatives for the majority of the fights. I have 3 max level Teroclaw Hatchlings, but ended up only using 1 of them. For this fight. But I didn't even look into the alternatives on this site for this, so it's possible I may not have even needed it for this fight. What I'm saying is, definitely look into the alternatives for each fight. Some of them are just as good, if not better, than the first team that shows.

Entmoot

escrito el 2018-11-25 10:25:36

The way your Teroclaw Hatchling is used in these fights is designed to keep it alive for multiple fights. It shouldn't die after the first, second, or even third time you use it if you follow the steps properly

Amber1019

escrito el 2018-09-29 17:55:26

Using Teroclaw Hatchling doesn't seem necessary here. The Dragonling does so well (will more than likely solo the fight every single time), you can probably use whatever 2 other pets you want. I would suggest Dragonkins.

Boberry escrito el 2017-07-20 21:49:08

I used Turkey, Plump Turkey, and Highlands Turkey: ALL 1-1-1. F. Coma- Swap, peck, F. Coma, swap, Peck F.coma swap, Peck...... he NEVER gets a single cast of, no damage taken at all.

Kathleene escrito el 2017-10-20 16:42:56

This is a fun strategy, very similar to the one posted by Elimae on 6/17/17 for Foe Reaper 50. Poor Leftovers are pecked to death while napping. It's slow, but you can use any level/breed/variety of Turkey, as long as they have Peck and Food Coma. Thanks for prompting me to try it out on Cookie's Leftovers, as well, Boberry.

zhaess escrito el 2018-01-11 15:37:17

2 Turkeys that are Faster than ??300?? speed with bird buff. Works Perfect.
Doesn't even need to be lvl 25's

Corgi

escrito el 2018-09-05 12:33:20

Problem with this is that after the first Coma, the Leftovers are [i[immune for several rounds! Didn't work for me at all.

ShadowJK escrito el 2017-10-22 00:50:50

1) any pet with feign death then swap to Zandalari
2) Zandalari - black claw / hunting party / leap
3) teroclaw - if something goes wrong

Bombasto escrito el 2017-07-13 15:00:13

This is a great guide, but you don't half overstate the importance of the Teroclaw. No particular need for it in most - if not all - of the fights.

Gráinne

escrito el 2017-07-13 17:08:32

Need? no. But it is a reliable self-healing sweeper that can be used again and again in many fights, so recommending it keeps the total pet count used down.

TeroclawBuster

escrito el 2018-06-03 12:46:21

This exchange looks so interesting right now… Although not for this particular fight!

Gráinne

escrito el 2018-06-04 02:28:59

Yes, this fight is fine. I don't think the Teroclaw nerf will impact too many individual strats anyway. I don't know of any PvE strats where the Teroclaw retires to the back line to heal, which is the main functionality that will be nerfed. I never used NW for the Flowing Spirit, for example. However, in the dungeons, it will be necessary to use Ravage well if you want to keep re-using it on multiple battles, and that's hard to explain in a table.

Kétcsont escrito el 2017-07-08 16:00:30

Any dragonkin does the trick with Lift Off and Tail Sweep ... Lift off to prevent coma, then TS. Never needed more than two pets (Used Spawn of Onyxia first, then Onyxian Whelpling)

Robotusch escrito el 2017-06-20 17:41:59

Used a spare pet to soak the first food coma, then my Undead Valkyr (was at 68% hp after the previous fights, but survived without any issues) put up Curse of Doom and Haunt, before a Zandalari Anklebiter with Black Claw and Hunting Party pretty much melted the boss.

Elimae escrito el 2017-06-16 20:19:54

I found this strat on the web and used it. It worked like a charm. I used it for all 3 boss fights. Two turkeys. Peck and Food Coma. Food coma > switch turkey > peck, food coma > switch turkey - continue until the boss is dead. Turkeys take no damage at all because the boss is constantly stunned with food coma.

Rachel escrito el 2017-06-16 00:21:16

Sending in a nether faerie dragon in before the mech dragonling results in a much cleaner kill.

I accidentally put in Emerald Proto-Whelp instead of the teroclaw, but it still worked. Funny how it tries to put the whep to sleep when it is already sleeping. Can level a pet, put it in at Turn 2 while Decoy is on to protect it, then switch back to Dragonling.
