Based on DragonAfterDark's strat, but changing up 1st & 3rd pet, since I didn't have the ones he called for. If you have him, Egbert works well in 3rd slot, as his peck does increased damage vs aquatic.

Didn't have Darkmoon Hatchling levelled. So I used Egbert to finish off first pet with shield + peck. With some luck you get to peck second pet as well. Then Fawn with Nature's Ward, Head Butt -> Stampede -> Nature's Ward -> Head Butt. Finally finished the fight with Gian Sewer Rat - Poison, Scratch, (Survival ready but didn't need it).

Run the fight twice, there's some RNG involved but won both times.

For the 1st pet, you should choose Nature's Ward as your middle ability slot and open the fight with it bc all of Fungus's abilities are strong against critters, and Nature's Ward "changes" you into an elemental, so you live longer to kill Fungus and drop a Stampede on Murray before it dies.

I used a Lovebird Hatchling in slot 1. Lovebird took out Fungus with Predatory Strike and Peck, leaving Darkmoon Hatchling to clobber Murray and still have enough left to run Flock on Old Blue and leave him with the damage debuff. Egbert swatted him in one Peck.

I tried the strat as written but Egbert died before Old Blue.

I used rabbits for pets 2 and 3, dodge, stampede and flurry.

This should be listed as an alternative, as rabbits are much more common as the darkmoon hatchling! Thank you!

I used the Darkmoon Hatchling, Imperial Silkworm, and a Bush Chicken. I never needed the Bush Chicken.
