I think other people have mentioned it but I randomly assigned Flow as my first pet. He had enough health to survive the nuke. I was able to get a set of Pump off on the boss and got a whirlpool before he died. There might be better options for a first pet with enough health to survive the nuke though.

FYI, if your first pet has over 1817 HP, it will live. I used that as an opportunity for an extra hit, making this really easy. I used a H/H Sinheart with Dark Bolt turn 1 and Stone Rush turn 2, chunking out the enemy.

I think if you can find a pet with over 1817 HP with high damage moves, this is way less RNG. It worked first try for me.

Wow! My Fel Flame won the fight (in the #1 slot). He didn't die to the antaen cannon, and my water spirit died to the dots. I'm feeling lucky!!!!

Using the tactic w/ script, first try the Water Spirit used Dive with Earseeker having 2 rounds c/d on Antaen Cannon. I didn't pay attention to crits, probably was something like that. Second attempt was perfectly timed. Just keep an eye on The Antaen Cannon cooldown so that you use Dive when it has 1 round to be available. Otherwise 10/10, tactict and script

Just FYI my first pet (I picked a 25 at random) had 1827 HP and didn't die on the first turn, which messed it up. He had 10 HP left. So I'd say <1817 HP on the first one for accuracy.
