I'm using Мартин Камень (a 10.1 wild catch from Zaralek Cavern) in the 1st Slot, it shouldn't be a problem to capture one and make it Rare & Level 25 before you get to the Family Battler.
Swole's Dive deals up to 633 (non-crit) damage to the Larion Cub, so there's a chance to fail when it already gets this low against Lifft. I didn't script a way around it (by keeping Rock Martin active to take that damage) because we would only run into the second Headbutt, so be prepared to repeat the fight. **When Lifft doesn't Нырок and instead is using the Крепкая броня and healing with Вбирание, you might need Укус to kill it. |

There is a somewhat rare chance that Dives, crits, and cooldowns all line up in a very annoying way and this fails. Most of my tests it has succeeded, though.

I don't understand why I am seeing only Woodbiter with no substitutes in the third slot. The third slot is there to spam Thrash, and there are many flyers who can do that.
My first candidates would be something like a P/P Fledgling Kingfeather for raw finishing power, or, if you were looking for something that could also avoid the Headbutt or Dive, something with base speed > 297 that also has Liftoff.
The Woodbiter works, but as a new pet in DF, it's likely that a lot of people would have one of the older possible substitutes already levelled.
