9.0.2 Update: Adjusted TD script to account for the questionable buffs to weather abilities, including Sunlight, Moonfire, and Cleansing Rain, which are all present in this fight. The fight is slightly less reliable now because Dignity heals for more with Cleansing Rain, but that will only matter if you get incredibly unlucky and don't crit during Hawk Eye.

This strategy allows you to level any level one pet. It doesn't need to have a certain amount of health, it won't take damage at all. The leveling pet must be in the second slot for this to work.

I recommend the Sprite Darter Hatchling if you have one, due to its higher health. You can use an S/S Nether Faerie Dragon, but you'll risk having to restart if Beauty and Conviction land too many crits for your Faerie Dragon to survive the third turn against Conviction.

Decoy from the Mechanical Axebeak is supposed to protect the first two slots from AoE attacks. The Sprite Darter Hatchling in Slot 3 should eat one Sunlight hit, but it can take it.

It's really important that this gets tagged as requiring a breed. The Axebeak must be SS, otherwise Sunlight kills your leveling pet. I wish I'd known that before popping the Pet Treat.

Worked with a PP Axebeak for me with a level 7 levelling pet - so if you don't have SS this is still viable with a higher level levelling pet :)

I've noticed an error in the td script. As it is now Mechanical Axebeak will cast Hawk Eye two times in a row. I edited the script (added "& !self.aura(Hawk Eye:520).exists") and after that Dignity has always died before casting Tidal Wave, meaning that the lvling pet takes 0 damage.

I've not encountered this issue. That should only be possible if something has gone wrong and Conviction uses Dark Rebirth the turn you place Decoy rather than the turn you swap in your level pet. Regardless, I've adjusted the script to reflect your edit.

I now realise it could also occur if your Sprite Darter Hatchling dies to crits from Conviction and so can't be brought in after the level pet. That would mean your Axebeak gets hit by Eyeblast, and then would place the Decoy after Conviction attacks rather than before. I've never had this happen to me, thankfully, but it would be possible.

Beauty's speed is now 446 as of this posting. Making it impossible for you to go first to use decoy and block sunlight. This means this strat is no longer viable for level 1 pets. Your carry pet needs to have at minimum 237 health - (357 if mechanical) in order to survive the first Sunlight.

You need to use an S/S Mechanical Axebeak. It is a flying pet, so it will outspeed Beauty (with 487 speed). That speed requirement has always been there, and the strategy is still working. (edited)

I am unable to reproduce this problem myself. Decoy is still blocking the Sunlight damage from your first two pets, which are the Mechanical Axebeak and your level pet.

I've been using this strategy today. It would seem the Axebeak needs to be higher speed or something so it attacks first. The sunlight cast goes off before Decoy can go up for me so it kills the leveling pet first attack every time. (edited)

Okay, yes I just confirmed. I got an axebeak with 320 speed so it attacked first, it gets Decoy up before the sunlight. If the axebeak is too slow like my other one was, Sunlight goes off before Decoy and the strategy fails.

Since the Nether Faerie Dragon has less HP than the Sprite Darter Hatchling, I've found that when fighting Conviction, if he crits with Eyeblast or if you end up with less than 700 HP after Eyeblast, simply using Life Exchange instead of an Arcane Blast that round will lead to a victory even if he crits on the following attack if you happen to be extra unlucky. Nice strat. I changed the 4th Row of the TD Script. I added [round=1] to the Decoy. So you save one round, because it is not necessary when you switch Axebeak back in against Conviction unless it does crit with Eyeblast. Don't know if this enough to get Axebeak under 50% HP. first time i tried this one, s/s Sprite died on that round 3 warning. i continued anyway and somehow won the fight anyway with s/s Axebeak sitting at 62 HP for a long time lol.

it happened a few more times and each time i was still able to win the fight, so pretty solid strat IMO. the last enemy pet doesn't do any immediate damage and axebeak killed it before whirlpool went off. (edited)

I am using a HP breed Mechanical Axebeak and that works fine too. I did have the Sprite Darter Hatchling die sometimes on Conviction, seems like it solves that problem if you use Life Exchange on the first round versus Conviction if Sprite Darter Hatchling start that round with less than 50% hp

Did a slight adjust to the TD Script. Added a quit if the carry pet dies, and a quit if the Sprite Darter dies too early. I did 65 successful rounds but was unable to test the Sprite Darter death quit since he didn't die early after I added that line in (it's line number 2 in case it gives anyone else issues and you need to remove it).

I very rarely have had this fail, mainly due to the random nature of quills damage at the beginning and potential serious bad luck with crits (or rather, lack of crits) at the end, and thats only every an issue if it is a level one pet. Fantastic strat!
