As of Shadowlands pre-patch (October 14th, 2020), the strat provided above will defeat the encounter but it does not provide the pet with experience because the Zandalari Anklerender does not die.

SOLUTION: Simply swap in your carry pet after Boneshard dies and then bring in the Anklerender to finish.

Thanks. I changed the pet from a leveling pet to just any pet. The xp was low to begin with. Hopefully this will confuse less people :)

My Anklerender, even S/S, doesn't die. Failed to get pet XP both times I tried it.

I have done this pet battle twice already the exact way you have it down, however my pet has yet to level up. Is there a point that when bring the LVL 1 in and switch it out? Because I don't see that listed.

Hi. The amount of XP is very low, like all BfA pet battles. That's why the tag 'Low XP' is shown. It's still a tiny bit and does not take any time, since the level pet will not be switched in and out with this strategy.

So, I think because I used my S/S Anklerender (276 power), I didn't have quite enough power to kill Unit 35. It remains on its mech round with 150 hp, so I suppose if you got a couple of crits that might sway it, but consistently they still had 150.

Once I switched to my P/B, it was fine, so I'd say P/P, P/S, P/B of the Anklerenders and Kneebiters should work well.

I've also added a script :)

P/P Anklerender doesn't work. He survives round 6, preventing the level pet from getting XP
