Good strat. Subbed albino chimerling s/s (2,2,1) kept the same rotation except subbed call darkness for scorched earth and tail sweep for breath. Worked first try.

Spawn of Onyxia doesn't work as none of the breeds are fast enough to lift off before you're forced out but I found a workaround.

This was done with the following breeds but i'm sure other breeds will work:

P/P Emerald Proto Whelp
P/P Spawn of Onyxia
P/S Emmigosa

Start with Emerald Proto Whelp
1. Pass - Spawn of Onyxia is forced in
2. Scorched Earth
3. Breath
4. Pass - Spawn of Onyxia dies, Emigossa is forced in
5. Wild Magic
6. Breath
7. Surge of Power - Emerald Proto Whelp is forced in
8. Breath

In SL, The last breath wasn't enough to take it out and scorched earth kept killing EPW. Tried lift off instead for a bigger hit - still dot kept killing EPW so instead of the last breath, I did an Ancient Blessing - Lift-off and all was well! (P/P EPW, P/B Onyxian Whelpling, P/S Emmigosa)

The strategy still hasn't been updated to indicate it doesn't work with a P/B breed Emerald Proto-Whelp. If that's the breed you have, just forfeit a random battle nearby to drop its health below that of Emmigosa, and it'll work perfectly.

The breed shouldn't be needed to have, but speed requirement over 291 is needed. If you use the pets that recommended by the OP, then this won't be a problem. (edited)

I would suggest to remove Onyxian Whelping as a viable sub. The only breed avail does not have speed high enough to follow the strategy. Thanks.

I'm wondering if breeds matter? My proto whelp kept getting swapped in after Crimson Hatchling died, and if I tried swapping Emmigosa in right away, she'd always die before I could get Surge of Power off.

Finally I just flipped the order of the strat: Crimson Hatchling dies, Proto-whelp comes in, used proto strike, whelp gets swapped out, then finish off with Emmigosa as described above. It was *extremely* close but it worked.

Same here autogatos. My Emerald drake (PP) has higher HP than Emmigosa (PS) so I followed your suggestion and it worked =)

Thanks for the tip! I used a P/S Emerald Proto-Whelp and it did the trick. I tried with a P/B version first and the Proto-Whelp kept getting swapped in first. So I do think breed matters.

if you use a P/B Emerald proto whelp, it will get swapped in when void gate is used on wild crimson. i tried a P/P and this strat worked. i assume a P/S emerald would work as well.

Using azure there wasn't room for the breath inbetween the other moves but it still worked out with wild magic and conflag finishing it after proto-strike.

I used Yu'la 1/2/3, Dark Whelpling 2/2/1, and Emmigosa 2/1/1
Yu'la uses Celestial blessing and gets swapped.
Dark Whelpling tail Sweeps
Switch back to Yu'la
Life exchange Emmigosa gets switched in
Breath
Breath
Surge of Power, dark whelp in
Tail sweep
Lift off

This tactic will never work as described unless you get a streak of lucky crits. To remove that RNG you simply do a breath before Emmigosa's surge of power. Works every time.

Used Wild Crimson Hatchling (121), Lil Deathwing (222), and Emerald Proto-Welp (121). Strat is same but in place of Wild Magic and Surge of Power, use Roll and then Cataclysm.

Used Wild crimson Hatchling ss (121), Emmigosa ps (--1),Twilight Clutch Sister pb (1-2).

Lift off, Scorched earth, breath.
Sister comes in.
Twilight meteorite, Tail Sweep. (on 1 try I won here).
Emmi comes in.
Surge of Power.

Same here - with a P/P breed you need to add that in or you won’t be in the air when the big attack hits.

Worked first time! I was having a lot of trouble with the Alt1 strat with the tailwhips not hitting hard enough. I used a destruction EPW and the blood exploded. Tried it again with my power/speed EPW and the wild magic tick finished the blood off. Great strat.
