lotta trub .. after umpteen attempts. nether faerie 2,2,1 - azure windseeker 2,*,2 - Chrom 1,2,2. NETHER moonfire, arcane, life exch, arcane. DEAD. AZURE devastate (2 turn) DEAD. CHROM howl, bite, bite, bite. WIN. after typing this did same strat again. won again. hope it helps

Quite simply, F this. I might come back when I have a leveled Yu'La but I doubt it. Tried so many different strats, it's just not worth the frustration. And now I have to abandon the big achieve because you have to do ALL of them, unlike other metas where you only do a partial number.

Here is a strategy that works mostly every time, even with bugged boss:
Bring in Nether Fairy Dragon
1. Moonfire
2. Life Exchange
3. Arcane blast until you die
Bring in Chrominius
1. Howl
2. Surge of Power (if chrominius dies before he can get this off, or if it got blocked, reset the fight)
3. Pass until you die
Bring in Dream Whelpling

This works, but does depends on a few RNG elements. If the first flurry before the life exchange doesn't hit 3 times, your dream whelp simply won't have enough HP to keep up at the end.

My S/S NETHER FAERIE DRAGON did not work. Used my P/P and won. Also, I threw in an Arcane Blast before Life Exchange. You are rolling the dice that his Flurry does NOT hit 3x, but the other way gambles that he WILL hit 3x. At least you will know early in the fight.

For those of without Yu'la, this strat is the go-to. It is RNG based because of Foulclaw's Flurry, but it will eventually work. Took me several tries, but I got it done. The good thing about this strat is that it's quick!

I had the same exact problem Corgi had. The stupid marsuul died, then attacked me again to kill me. It's not bad enough that the thing has 100% dmg reduction. It's a fricking zombie!

worked like a dream first time. Barley even needed Chromius. This should be the main strat. I understand not everyone has a dream whelping but Hogs is used in numerous strats and not everyone has that pet.

Perfect! Worked first time thru after other strategies listed failed me completely. Foulclaw only had 149 hp left after Dream Whelpling died, which of course Chromious finished off with no problem. Thank you kindly for listing this strategy !

was going to write a script for this strat, but there seems to be some bug that makes it impossible for you to hit Foulclaw with damage when he has Crouch activated. With this issue in play this strat is unusable. Bump the other strat to #1 spot (for now at least).

I don't think it's actually a bug. Foulclaw is considered a boss, so he has a buff that "reduces all damage taken by 50%." Then when he uses Crouch, that also reduces the damage by 50% so I think they stack to make 100% damage reduction.

It could be a bug. After all, we don't know if these two buffs are supposed to stack in this way or not. Maybe the calculation is supposed be x-x*0.5*0.5=x*0.25 instead of x-x*(0.5+0.5)=x*0. Who knows?

Good to see the math lessons kicking in, but this is what we've got and it's been like that since pet battles started.
See for example how Weakness or Quicksand (-50% speed) cast on a flying pet with the (+50% speed) racial make the target's speed default (well, unless you damage it enough). Darkflame during a *Darkness* weather cancels all healing unless an elemental is concerned.

Personally, I think the Boss/Elite passive should not belong here just for this reason, as it tunnels the player's vision to a specific debuff provided by Flock, Stampede, etc, and pre-Legion – Howl. Cue the circus when we start talking about elementals or aquatics though :)

wow, this works more than great, no chance of lose even with boss buff damage reduction, boss gets 100% damage reduction but you add 100% damage buff on him, great strategy.

So,I changed it up:
Yu'la: Breath - Life Exchange - Celestial - SWAP to Chrominius
Chrominius: Howl - Surge - Dead - Bring Yu'la back in!

The challenge of this fight is avoiding a beat down while Foulclaw is in Crouch, because he becomes immune to all damage during Crouch, (may be a bug).

Yu'la (1, 2, 2)
Chrominius (X, 1, 2)
Celestial Dragon (2, 1, 1)

Start with Yu'la

Round 1: Breath
Round 2: Celestial Blessing (Ideally, you want Foulclaw to strike 3 times so life exchange has maximum affect)
Round 3: Life Exchange
Round 4: Swap to Chrominius
Round 5: Howl
Round 6: Pass (waiting for crouch to fade)
Round 7: Surge
Round 8: pass/Chrominius dies (Bring Yu'la back)
Round 9: Breath
Round 10: Celestial Blessing
Round 11: Swap to Celestial Dragon
Round 12: Ancient Blessing (Crouch should fade)
Round 13: Roar
Round 14: Moonfire

First time I failed with P/P Nexus Whelpling and S/S Nether Faerie Dragon, second time I used P/S Nexus and H/P Nether Faerie and it worked for me, basically as written. My Nexus Whelpling died during Mana Surge and didn't get to the Pass step, and my Nether Faerie died immediately after Moonfire and didn't get an Arcane Blast in, but otherwise it was the same.

It was really hard, but I finally got to beat it with Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon (1,2,2), Nether Faerie Dragon (2,2,1) and Chrominius (1,1,2)
Start with breath, life exchange, than keep using celestial blessing until Yu'la dies. It'll make the nether faerie take less demage. Skip the first round, life exchange, moonfire and arcane blast until it dies.
Chrominius will easily finish the fight with howl and surge of power.

2 pet strat worked, yu'lon (1.2.2) breath - life exchange - blessing till he dies, bring in Chrominus (1,1,2) boss should have 1 round left on cower, cast howl, works when he is cowering, and hit him with bite then surge, the protection fro celestial blessing keeps him alive long enough to nuke the boss

I had problems with this so decided to exchange pets a little.

I replaced Nexus Whelpling with Azure Whelping and went straight in with Surge of Power. I followed this with Wild magic and Claw. From there I followed the above but it killed first time every time for me. The goal was to use biggest hitting spells first as it was unpredictable how hard you would be hot resulting in never getting to use the powerful spells with the above tactic.

Azure Whelping (1/2/1) Surge of Power, Wild magic, Claw (If not dead)
Nether fairy Dragon (2/2/1) Moonfire, Life Exchange, Arcane Blast, Moonfire (if not dead).
Chrominus as above.

this is breed dependent. if the nether faerie dragon has fewer than 1421 hit points it will be killed before life exchange unless you only take 2x 2 hits. only H/P breed has enough hit points to survive 1x 3 hits 1x 2 hits

This is the only dragonkin strat that worked for me, after hours of frustration.
I used 3 Chrominiuses, all (1,1,2)
For the first Chrominius, Bite, Howl, and Surge of Power. He'll die.
Then, just Howl + Surge of Power with the remaining Chrominiuses. If your first Chrominius can't get one Bite off in the beginning AND a Surge of Power, go ahead and restart the fight because it won't work. Good luck!

I did this with 3 Chrominius (seemed a lot more reliable than anything else) and I didn't need the bite in the beginning. Just went Howl, Surge, wait to die, repeat 2 more times.

Each howl/surge did 644 damage, and the boss had 1840 hit points. Howl/Surge seems to be able to do that damage through crouch, so the only way this can fail is if the 2nd Chrominius gets hit 2x 3 times.

Boss is bugged right now (hopefully). Crouch is supposed to make the boss take 50% reduced damage but instead makes him completely immune to all damage.

Due to the great way pet battles work % increases/decreases are additive... this means his 50% reduced buff from being a boss + 50% reduced from crouch = 100% reduced damage.

RNG destroyed me almost everytime. The Crouch on the Boss made it difficult to do any damage to it.
Breed might be important for the strat posted above, so I changed it around a bit:
Sprite Darter Hatchling (2/2/1), Nether Faerie Dragon (2/2/1), Chrominius (1/1//2).
Followed similar moves above, Moonfire, Life Exchange, Arcane Blast (these will be ignored due to Crouch). You most likely won't get a hit in on this thing aside from the first 2 moves, but you're trying to buy time on reducing the Crouch rounds.
Next is Nether Faerie Dragon, and use the same moves again. Here's the tricky part, your only chance is hoping that his Flurries only hit twice and not three times.
if its health is low enough, you can Howl and Surge of Power.
I did this so many times, trying different pets, but the Crouch really makes this rough for the Dragonkin achieve.

I used Purpleblob's start modifications and it worked very well! There is still some RNG issues that can get you, but over all worked better for me than the original posted strat. I did end up using 2 Nether Faerie Dragons [same abilities as Sprite Darter], one P/B & one P/P.
