Worked much better for me when I didn't pass on the Mindslayer. When I passed I didn't get any Mana Surge hits, but when I didn't pass at all I got all three Mana Surges.

Even if Inner Vision modified Curse of Doom's damage (which it doesn't), it would still overlap with the Curse of Doom going off. Since Inner Vision doesn't work like Howl, there's no reason to pass (even though it overlaps without the passing).

I had to Crush x2 before Exploding my Minfernal for this to work. (maybe one crush would have been fine) Otherwise Flummox always survived with less than a hundred health. (edited)

Alternative to Minfernal, RNG dependent though.

Used Faceless Mindlasher (1, 2, 1) instead of the Minfernal.
Followed the steps until the Mini Mindslayer died, then brought in the Faceless Mindlasher and used Inner Vision followed by Tentacle Slap until Flummox died.

Alternatively you could use Inner Vision followed by Worst Fear, but this makes the fight even more RNG dependent.

My voidcaller wasn't leveled up at the time, so I subbed in a Lofty Libram as it had Shadow Shock and Curse of Doom. I followed all the same steps, until it came time for Minfernal to explode. His full hp explosion killed Flummox, and I had no need to bring the book back in.

Perfect strat! Worked beautifully, didn't even need to bring back Lesser Voidcaller, Minfernal took him out with explode. Maybe I got lucky.

Couldn't get this strategy to work. Going to include the breeds I have, idk if it matters or not though.
Lesser Voidcaller, B/B (1/1/1)
Mini Mindslayer, P/S (2/2/2)
Netherspace Abyssal, P/S (1/2/1)

1: Curse of Doom
2: Switch to Mini Mindslayer
3: Pass
4: Life Exchange
5: Inner Vision
6: Mana Surge
7: Mana Surge continues - Mini Mindslayer dies. Bring in Netherspace Abyssal.
8: Meteor Strike
9: Meteor Strike finishes
10: Explode
He died here, but I guess if he doesn't, you can use Shadow Slash with the Voidcaller. Hope this helps someone :)

Used Court Scribe in place of Lesser Voidcaller, Mini Mindslayer, and Netherspace Abyssal in place of minfernal. Same moves as strat, except I threw in a Meteor Strike prior to the explosion, and the explosion finished him off.

If you happen to have alts on different servers, I would check for the Minfernal on them. I spent hours camping on my main server, and then one day just happened to check on a different server and there it was! Good luck

Used Willy (1,1,2) instead of Minfernal. When Mini Mindslayer died I swapped in Willy. Rot, Interrupt, Tounge Lash, Tounge Lash, Rot, Flummoxed died. Did not have to use Lesser Voidcaller Shadow Shock.

Netherspace Abyssal (2,2,2) is a replacement for Minfernal (2,2,2) and has the advantage of being much easier to get, since Minfernal is a rare spawn and is not tradeable, while the Abyssal is a drop from one of the bosses in Tempest Keep, and is tradeable.

The Netherspace Abyssal drops off Prince Malchezaar, the last boss in Karazhan. And yes, you can find one on the auction house for 20-40k depending on supply and demand.

I managed to do this with a lvl 17 Lesser Voidcaller, 25 mini mindslayer and a 25 enchanted lantern. I used the strat as normal but once mindslayer died I popped in the lantern used Flash then Light on CD with burn filler, With some luck on the boss missing with Flash the lantern put in some serious work.

Used Brightpaw instead of Minfernal. Prowl + Arcane Dash, then Arcane blast til dead, then finish off with Voidcaller.

The only pet I have of these 3 is the Mini Mindslayer. After trying different combos like 30 times, I finally think I have one that works, albeit very luck dependent. It's based on the strategy already here.

Lunar Lantern (1/2/1)
Mini Mindslayer (2/2/2)
A third pet (I didn't end up actually needing this one, but you might, so pick one with strong attacks, like surge of power)

Start with Lunar Lantern:

Soul Ward to block his breath

Swap to Mini Mindslayer

Pass twice
Life Exchange
Inner Vision
Mana Surge

Mini Mindslayer dies, swap back to lantern

Repeat this order: Flash, beam, beam, soul ward

If your lantern dies, clean up with the third pet

With any luck, flummox will miss lots of his attacks (50% miss chance)

I dont have Lesser Voidcaller. I think in my 600+ collection i have few magic pets >_<

The i use Hungering Claw (the one from kosumoth) that have shadow sock and curse of doom.

Tried this strat, except on Mini Mindflayer went pass, inner vision, life exchange, mana surge x2, death, brought in Minfernal and the explode killed him (over-killed by 213 even).

Traded Minfernal for Spectral Porcupette.
Did all you said, except when Mindslayer died, I brought back the Voidcaller and used Curse of Doom.
I went with a 1/1/2 Porcupette but maybe 1/2/1 would be better to stall until the Curse fell again.

I could not get this strat to work, for 8 tries worth anything. So here's what I found.
Lesser Voidcaller (1/2/1)
Lofty Libram (2/2/2)
Servant of Demidos (1/1/2)

Curse of Doom
Prismatic Barrier
Switch to Lofty Libram - it'll be protected by the barrier
Amplify Magic - barrier should be taking its last hit by Flummox this round
Shadow Shock until Lofty Libram dies, try to get one last curse of doom off
Switch back to Lesser Voidcaller
Prismatic Barrier
Pass
Shadow Shock until it dies as well
Bring in Servant of Demidos
Now this comes the RNG part: use Soulrush. If you're lucky, it stuns Flummox, giving you extra round
Clean-Up
Magic Sword - this should kill Flummox.

Explode. Netherspace Abyssal dies, Lesser Voidcaller comes back in
A couple of Shadow Shocks finished off Flummox.

The strat works nicely, but I think it should suggest a Netherspace Abyssal instead of Minfernal. Basically the same thing for this fight but way easier to get, and less variance in breeds too.

If you don't have a Lesser Voidcaller, a Lofty Libram fills in nicely. It has the same skills. If you have similar luck to mine, the Explode will do the job and the Lofty Libram just takes the credit.

If you just can't bring yourself to rarify and level your Minfernal because it's not a good breed, well, you just need one lucky crit anywhere to be able to finish it with a Surge of Power from the third pet (Legs, any Manafiend, etc.).

This strat does work, but it seems to be breed and RNG reliant. I used Mergas's recommendation of using the Lofty Libram, since mine has 289 speed (faster than Flummox). This allowed my Libram to go first for the last two hits (non-crits).

My Lesser Voidcaller was getting killed before it could get a second Shadow Shock off to kill the dude, so I used Meteor Strike before explode and then one Shadow Shock finished him off.

After a long stretch of frustration with Flummox, I found this resource, thankfully. The Voidcaller - Mindslayer - Minifernal combo worked great! I did skip the amplify magic on the Mindslayer and went right for the Mana Surge and got two off before having to switch to the Minifernal. My Void was left standing with about 250HP at the end.

Didn't work for me in 5 tries as written above. What did the trick was to pass 2 rounds when on the Mindslayer to get more Dmg onto Flummox with Life Exchange. Killed him first try afterwards. :)

This now awards achievement credit, just did it and it worked just fine.
As for the strat it failed first time, only way I got a kill is from a mana surge crit.
