The Legion is upon us! And with it so are World Quests.
One of the biggest new features of the latest expansion are World Quests - activities that directly pop up in your world map once you reach level 110 and earn Friendly reputation in all zones (which happens automatically if you quest through the zones). For the world quests, all you have to do is travel to each location, fulfill the requirements and reap some nice rewards!
There are plenty of different objectives, and one particular is: Pet Battles!
Every day there are 3 different pet battle quests available, taken completely at random from the overall pool of 37 challenges. That is more than in any previous expansion!
Xu-Fu can scan this section for the most suitable strategies according to your preferences and show the required pets.
Depending on the amount of fights in the section, this can take up to a minute to process.
Has anyone experienced an issue with the world quest 'Chopped' in Suramar where the NPC is phasing out as soon as you come close? I've been waiting for this WQ to appear for months, it's finally up, but I can't battle this tamer for my Family achievement because it keeps disappearing right in front of me! FYI, I have a full Suramar storyline that was completed years ago, so I don't have any incomplete campaign or anything that would mess up the phasing... Any advice, please? (edited)
All you are asked to do with Azsuna Specimens is to defeat a wild Felspider. This can be done easily by pretty much any Blue 25 team, pretty much in any way.
I've just tried it and it's working fine for me. Potentially it was grabbing other strategies than for you.
Can you please send me a direct message with the rematch string you're getting?
Every day there are 3 different pet battle quests available, taken completely at random from the overall pool of 37 challenges
But actually it is slightly different. There are 6 zones (5 + Dalaran), and every day 3 of them are randomly being chosen. Then, For each chosen zone, 1 random WQ pet daily is being chosen.
This way no 2 quests can be chosen from the same zone. Just a clarification, for the precision sake.
Next to these three, there's always one of "Illidari Masters" quests on Broken Shore that's on a rotation and a quest on Argus to defeat a certain elite pet picked from eighteen available. 5 WQs a day!
Indeed. 3 Broken Isles, 1 Broken Shore, and 1 Argus wq. I have yet to see the 3 Broken Isles wq's all in 1 zone, but I don't think there's any programming or algorithm present in Blizzard's code that prevents it from happening. Like I said, 2 wq's in 1 BI zone happens a lot, 3 in 1 may have happened several times, I may just have missed them all.
A bit late to the party, but this year there have been three Dalaran tamers at least once.
And yes, the area is not prepared for that kind of tournament. :D
I notice that dodge and ward at the same second tab on the Teroclaw, used to be the second and third. the 122 is misleading due to Blizzard changes. Looks like the fight info will need some TLC. Checking all pets for changes as time permits.
New to the site soooo it may be covered.
I have been importing your rematch strings and creating new tabs as suggested. Ran out of tabs. Any solutions would be appreciated.
I've never used a single new tab on Rematch. There just seems to be very little point. Once meta achievements are done, you settle on a strat you like for a battle and that just becomes your 'go-to' every time. No need for tabs.
I'm having trouble seeing the section for Argus. I am at the Legion World Quest page and all I see is a table listing my pets. To the left on the page, I see all the zones other than Argus. I'm using FF, if that makes a difference.
The bar at the top of the website (BLOG|TOOLS|LEGION|DRAENOR|…) contains dropdown menus that are activated via a mouseover. Under LEGION, the last, sixth one, is titled "Anomalous Animals of Argus".
As of today, the section is also accessible from the main page under Quicklinks (placed right side).
For gnasher, Ikky can pretty much solo him. Black Claw. Then Flock, and its over with. If there are any problems, Fruit Hunter with Rain Dance, then Nocturnal Strike with finish it off.
New pet. Tamer Felsoul Seer. Just defeated with photo whelp drake 1 2 1, infinite whelping 1 11. Any pet. Proto drake will take out first 2 Pets and 1/2 of the third. After your drake dies tail swipe with the infinite whelping. Easy battle

Apparently there are no instructions available for Legion WQ Stormheim Beasts of Burden. A quick search of wowhead Beasts of Burden shows many suggestions with quite a few based on the Iron Starlette.
But (isn't there always a but) poster Adorabull has a method where you can do half the fight as many times as you want, getting leveling pet exp each time. Requires only an Iron Starlette. Very clever and perhaps of interest to your fans.
I think there is a glitch on the link above for this fight as I did get my stat for the fight here and at least one alternative used the Iron Starlette, allowing leveling of level 1 pets. Not a lot of xp but enough to get them past the iffy stage for leveling.
Also, you are correct; you can fight either trainer as many times as you want for leveling xp - the key is to not do the 2nd trainer until you are ready to complete the WQ.
There is a pet battle in the Maelstrom (Shaman class hall) for Snowfang. Do you have an area for assorted pet battles found in odd areas (like class halls and the like?)
Hey :) It's the Miscellaneous tab. The Shaman pet battle I thought is fairly easy to do, but I have no way of testing it unfortunately. Is it a difficult one that should be up here somewhere?
This is a beast with elemental moves; however, some mechs seem to have succeeded, especially since you fight against a single pet.
Note that there are no critters with mechanical damage!
First off, LOVE the site. Your layouts for strategies, and allowing individuals to post strats to help crowdsource - all fantastic.
There's something that seems to be missing.
The Falcosaur questlines have a couple of steps which can be difficult. In particular, the "Team Rumble" quests require some specific strategies. Now, I do often find strats on your site in the comments sections for individual world quests. However, this seems like it would be FANTASTIC if it had have a specific section. Extend the amazingness of your strategy design to those specific quests, please!
The simple answer is, the experience is different from trainer to trainer.
From very little to very much.
There's a rather complex formula behind it. One of the warcraftpets.com users made a very long post about it where you could find detailed answers, sadly I can't find it right now but I'm sure it's in the forum somewhere!
Thanks Remte :D
I'm planning to add these details to the fights here so you can see directly on the table how much experience a fight gives, and if it's worth it to bring a level pet :-)
Is it intentional that once your complete the WQ you can't engage the tamers? I mean, how are we supposed to complete the different achievements? Wait weeks and weeks?
Obviously, for Battle on the Broken isles, once per tamer is all you need.
Family Familiar is the problem. In 7.0.3 it was originally possible to re-engage the tamers after defeating them on an alt that did not have World Quests unlocked. That is, a 110 who didn't have World Quests available could battle them as much as they liked, and defeat them with all families in one session to get credit towards the achievement. I got my FF that way. However, when WQs became account wide, Blizzard made the alts unable to do that anymore, even if the alt had not yet picked up the whistle. Since they deliberately changed it, we have to believe that is their intention.
Getting Family Familiar on one character now is going to be a terribly long wait for each tamer to show up 10 times. Of course, if you have more than one 110, you can cover more than one family per day on the tames that are up.
One of the biggest new features of the latest expansion are World Quests - activities that directly pop up in your world map once you reach level 110 and earn Friendly reputation in all zones (which happens automatically if you quest through the zones).
You don't need friendly reputation any more :) Just 110 level
You can't click on the grey bar "Beasts of Burden", but you CAN click on the individual bars "Andurs" and "Rydyr" below it. That's what you need to do.
I cannot seem to view the Celestial Tournament page as of 10/17/16. Do you know of any good strats to breeze through the tournament post-Howl bomb nerf? I have not found anything solid on this yet, and regrettably I have one more pet to pick up for the achievement, as I was out of town and unable to complete the tournament.
There's a couple good ones that are updated on wowhead. If you have a good selection of pets I can also recommend my own Celestial Tournament Planner. Once you have it set-up, using a bookmark will give you direct access to the most suitable strategies for you: http://wow-petguide.com/index.php?m=CelestialTournament
Thank you so much for your assistance! I have most of the pets in your guide at max level so I should be good to give it another go! With so much to do in Legion, your guides are incredibly helpful in saving the general populace large amounts of time in theory crafting. I will check out all the resources you have linked me! Many thanks, and Happy Halloween!
I'm creating my guides so you do not need specific breeds. It is only required in very few strategies here (less than 1%). You're pretty much safe to use whichever pet you have of a certain type :-)
I was wondering if "Battle on the Broken Isles" was account wide, ie if battle quest #1 is open on one toon and #2 on another toon will they both count towards credit or do we have to get lucky and get all the quests (eventually) on one toon?
For the World Quests breeds do not matter. Perhaps there are a few mistakes, I can't rule it out completely, but for the largest part you can bring any breed :-)
i just resubbed for the first time since cataclysm. I'm prepping for legion now and thought I'd get a pet team together. I ran the readiness check and it looks like I don't have any of the needed pets. Any guesses as to how long it would take to get all the needed pets and level them? Thanks!
Depending on how much gold you want to spend, it does take a good while to gather and level all those pets!
If you're just starting with pet battles I would highly recommend looking for a guide online how to build up your pet roster quickly. My page is not yet suitable for this, since I don't have a real "beginners" guide. It's on my list for the future but just not done, yet, sorry :-(
What I would also recommend is - once you have a few pets on level 25 - to check out my Pandaria section (especially the Master Tamers) and get the pets for those few. The daily quests there give immense XP for small pets and are among the best way to level up your other pets!
Thanks!! I'll start leveling up a team right away so I can work on the MoP dailies. I guess a follow up question I have is will I be able to do the Legion world quests (suboptimally) with whatever ragtag team I can throw together or are they basically impossible without the right pets?
The difficulty of the world quests is very different from quest to quest. Some (few) are really, really hard and you'll need very specific pets for it, but many are simple and you'll be able to complete with pretty much any level 25 pets you throw at them.
It's not an obvious one at all! I do want to put general information like this one on a good spot within the page, but haven't figured out a good way so far.
To answer your question: No, breeds should not matter. I always double check, do some calculations or ideally test with different breeds to make sure that you can use all of the relevant pets you have in your collection.
There is a handful of strategies here where a certain breed is required, but in that case there is always a special mention for it on the strategy page :-)
Thankyou again :)
I'll make a start on the duplicate cull :p
960 pets.. the increase cap to 1500 will be nice , but kind of probably come too late otherwise!
BRAVO !!

Forgive what may be an obvious question , but does breed matter for any of these? With the info we have so far, at least?
Thankyou!

I'll make a start on the duplicate cull :p
960 pets.. the increase cap to 1500 will be nice , but kind of probably come too late otherwise!
