At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
Level 1+
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!

just did, leveling 2 pets with hat on, no food. Got 950ish xp each. Thought I was getting much more. I wonder if they nerfed it?

Aranesh

wrote on 2017-02-06 11:20:00

I guess it's because you added 2 pets. They split the XP received. For that reason it's also most of the time not beneficial to bring 2 level pets instead of just 1

Tyrsa wrote on 2017-02-06 12:57:16

You may be remembering a pet bonus week?

Nalli wrote on 2017-02-24 02:12:53

Just using Hat and leveling 1 Pet, I was able to take a level 1 to level 7 in one fight, 7 to 10 the next, 10 to 13 the next and from there it went levels 14, 16, 18, 19, 20 all in each fight, but after 22 it takes 2 fights to get to 23, maybe 3 for 24, and then you should be within 1 or 2 fights to Max... :)

Nalli wrote on 2017-02-24 02:28:17

I have made a mistake in posting this here...I have been leveling pets with Rydyr...I imagine it is still the same regardless though ( I have yet to try Andurs due to not wanting to end the WQ...

Telanis

wrote on 2024-02-13 19:23:37

It's always better to bring two pets instead of one. It'll always depend on specific numbers, but usually you will overcap level 25 less and therefore finish levelling them in 1 fight less. Worst case it's a tie. You also save that tiny amount of time swapping out pets.

kaysuella

wrote on 2024-03-06 18:59:59

i usually use the 2 pet situation when i have two lvl 24s, or if im raising lower lvl pets (as they get more xp for the difficulty)

Enea wrote on 2017-01-23 23:52:13

I actually find Toxic Smoke, Wind-Up, Wind-up, Explode works better for H/P breed (maybe other, I only have H/P )

Jagûar

wrote on 2017-04-17 12:37:03

My IS is also H/P breed and following the strat with Toxic, Wind, Toxic, Wind, Explode have now worked 5 times in a row :) I'm hoping it'll last, as I 95 rare pets left I want to lvl... what a grind...

Almanix

wrote on 2020-06-03 05:57:35

Agreed, been doing the same (W-Q-W-Q-E) with H/P, P/B and P/P (all three equally often) for hours without a single fail

Telanis

wrote on 2024-02-13 19:15:05

TS, WU, WU, E does not work with H/P unless you crit. Far worse than the main strat.

Stublin#1418

It takes 9 fights to go from 1-25 with pet XP week + Safari Hat + Both pet treats (1 9 13 16 19 21 22 23 24 25)

Telanis

wrote on 2024-02-13 19:12:09

Without XP week but with the hat and both treats, it takes 13 fights for levels: 1, 8, 11, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 23 (not enough XP for a full level), 24, 25.

Desaria#2388

I do it with two characters, one for each tamer. One team can have a level 1 pet, the other team needs the levelling pet's health high enough to take a hit. I prefer to get the pets to about level 14 and then leave them for the other character to level with the other tamer. I have three teams for this fight so that I can cycle through them quickly and heal when all three teams are done fighting. Using this method, I've managed to level 55+ pets in day (and I mean all day long) by using the hat and food. Even better is when this quest lines up with bonus pet week. Let's hope it comes this time!

Can someone offer a tdscript for an H/P, P/P, and a P/B iron Starlet for efficency?

Kamilya#1607

My P/B Iron Starlette always died before turn 5. I don't know about a leveling point of view, but to just complete the fight, I used my Chrominius (2,1,2). Used Howl and then Surge of Power to finish it off. Won the battle :)

Badchx#2563

wrote on 2021-03-21 06:37:53

Same here. Also the front page naming repeating Legion-quest is often wrong/missing.

Nyari

wrote on 2021-03-21 06:50:53

Since I check myself every day which opponents are active, I find the statement "is often wrong / missing" very insulting.
It is very rare that in the morning there is an invasion in one of the areas and the opponents are blocked. So these can only be added later.

In the case of Andurs / Rydyr, it is more complicated. These do not belong to the "Family Familiar" fights and normally cannot be repeated at all. There is only one trick to do that.

From the guide:
"Note: Only repeatable if you fight just one of them, so you have to choose which one you want to use for leveling.
Once you've completed this world quest you can't challenge them again! "

Unfortunately, we have not found a way to accommodate this informatively in the widget. However, it is in the linked guide. See above.

Belazriel#1965

wrote on 2021-03-21 13:03:31

Something I have noticed and haven't bothered to see how to fix is that my front page widget defaults to KR/TW realms rather than US so it doesn't show the correct fights available at first. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that I misclicked that caused it but for now I just remember to click aside.

Cynfire

wrote on 2021-05-23 10:21:08

I know you posted this a few months ago, but if you still haven't figured it out here's how to fix the KR/TW part of the widget.

Click on the settings tab on the top right drop down. Scroll down until you see "Change Battlenet Region". select your region and click save. Now the front page will show the correct one for you.

And that happens because you signed up with your battletag instead of creating an account with a username/password. Hope this helps :)

Shade#2932

wrote on 2021-07-31 04:18:03

Nmyler, the quest IS repeatable, as long as you only repeat one of the 2. If you attack both Rydyr and Andurs, the quest is marked completed and you can't repeat.

Baum42 wrote on 2017-08-25 14:22:20

You can do this Fight repeatedly, and continue to level pets easily, if you dont do Rydyr.

Tie wrote on 2017-08-25 18:50:33

Seems like a P/S one is completely incapable of any of these strategies.

Fapherd wrote on 2019-12-31 17:37:55

P/S worked for me, as long as his first charge doesn't crit. Explode doesn't have quite enough oomph to kill him, but the Toxic Smoke dot does.

2 x lvl 1s and iron starlette. Most reliable sequence is 2 x wind up, 1 x smoke, 1 x explode. Rarely fails.

I tried this and failed 3 times so I switched to Wind Up-Toxic Smoke- Wind Up- Explosion= Success!

Kathleene wrote on 2017-10-10 17:02:37

This is such a beautiful, simple strategy. I love it! I've not had it fail once in many, many battles. My Starlettes are all in the Power family, though, no Speed ones. Since one Starlette can handle this by himself, I always level up two pets at a time and they go just as fast as leveling up one at a time. They don't seem to share experience points - they each get their full quota. Thanks for the great strategy.

Kathleene wrote on 2017-10-10 19:24:28

I have to retract what I said earlier about leveling pets sharing XP. I came across my notes from the testing and found that my memory was incorrect. On average, two pets leveled from 1 to 25 in 9 rounds, while it took one pet 5 rounds. Obviously, the single pet was getting more XP. However, it worked out that leveling one pet at a time would take 10 rounds to level up 2 while two pets could be done in 9 rounds. Just wanted to clarify this since I found my notes. Sorry for the confusion.

Camlas

wrote on 2018-07-06 05:26:26

Maybe that's because you overcap on xp when your pet reaches lvl 25?

Smelus wrote on 2018-07-25 18:37:12

I use 3 H/P Stars and never lose fights. I have setup 3 teams with a Starlette in the first slot and leveling pets in the other slots. Works every time.

perfenevicusA wrote on 2017-08-23 08:00:13

Tip if you use a Health Starlet 1500 it wil always work sometimes the speed one wil fail. (very small change) good to know for farming.

Jay wrote on 2017-08-23 12:05:02

Yeah if your Iron Starlette has 1400 HP, the method above often fails. Skip the second smoke and just explode, however, and it works.

Zentavius wrote on 2017-08-23 17:42:40

I've found, using my P/P Starlette, that Toxic Smoke, 2x Wind Up, Toxic Smoke, Explode is almost 100%. I did have one in around 15 battles where the enemy pet snuck in and wrecked me, but it seems extremely rare. Even battles where his pet crits an attack seemed to still go my way.

Jay wrote on 2017-08-25 16:00:15

Jay here again - I have to walk back my comment - I was trying to use this strategy against Rydyr, not Andurs. Didn't notice the difference up top, thought it was supposed to work with both.

Moc

wrote on 2018-03-12 15:25:54

I only have P/P and I like that edit for it Zentavius. I think I'm going to go ahead and level up a H/P seems a lot of the boss fights have them rated higher than the P/P.
