You can take one crit from Powerball, but probably not two depending on your Shadow Shock hits, and it still might be susceptible to low rolling Shadow Shocks. I like to challenge myself :p Technically you can use any pet BUT if your level pet is lower than 506HP there is a chance at round 11 it will be swapped in. You will need to swap in your Dragonete Mecânico Perene, continue and swap back into Microbot (TD script will allow for this). This will take an extra round and a few seconds. You can use Alerta! instead of Travar. This is has more chance of failure (about 2% instead of <0.1%), a bit slower animations (IMO) but the advantage is that you might get a chance to end 3 rounds earlier. I noticed that an Empowered Manafiend(pp) can kill Chipper in two hits: Arcane Storm followed by Surge of Power. If you happen to have one I recommend using it!

If you don't pass on Turn 3, the strategy works, if you do pass it may not from trying it. Court Scribe was P/S for clarity.
