Constructed from a seemingly impossible mass of gears, springs, wires, and a little something special, this dragonling embodies the spirit of Pandaria as seen through an engineer's goggles.
Source
This pet is made by Engineers from a Mists of Pandaria recipe. If you don't have your own Engineer, you will be heading to the Auction House to buy it for a few thousand gold.

PvE
The MPD has only one breed, S/S.

The MPD is notable for its Decoy, which with its 309 Speed and Mechanical racial, can save it from otherwise deadly mechanics. It has a very useful split damage in Thunderbolt, and a decent basic attack in Breath.

Use Decoy either specifically to prevent taking a big hit, or on cooldown. Use Thunderbolt on cooldown, and Breath otherwise.

Bombing Run can be used in tamer strategies occasionally to set up delayed damage under a debuff.

Discussion: The MPD is a very useful addition to your toolbox, with Decoy for avoidance, and a side specialisation in being a double counter to Magic pets, since Mechanicals take less damage from Magic attacks, and Breath is strong against Magic.

Its gameplay is simple: decide when to use Decoy – at the start, unless you know when a big hit is coming – and then use Thunderbolt on CD and Breath otherwise.

Speed + Mechanical racial + Decoy often keeps the MPD alive to do a couple of extra rounds of damage.

Bombing Run can be used in combination with a swap to a pet that will apply a damage buff before it hits, or against Beasts, but it’s not common.

Explode may be used to die deliberately in a Tamer strat, to let a Carry Pet finish with XP.

In PvP, its speed, and the avoidance of Decoy, together with the AoE from Thunderbolt, make it well worth running, though Bone Barrage is a common incidental counter to its Decoy.
