The key is to counter the first two pets using any of their best counters and finish them off at minimum one for one.
At the last pet choose a pet specifically for its Life Exchange and Dragonkin type abilities with magic damage. When last pet enters, use Life Exchange to cure yourself from the earlier splash damage and bring the enemy HP within striking distance of triggering the Dragonkin damage buff special. The last pet should be finished in three abilities in this fashion. |

The only way I've had this fail is if Muar gets stunned immediately upon entering the battle, which happened once in 30+ run throughs so far.

Credit for the strategy goes to njpotter90 on Wowhead. This is a variation as the original strat posted required a Hungry Burrower from the Wild Hunt paragon cache in place of the 2nd pet used here.
Dustie is a bit of a wild card in this battle regardless of team comp. Once he comes in after turn 9, it's entirely dependant on his ability usage when Roggy dies. However, even with crits and RNG from which abilities Dustie uses, multiple battles have confirmed this team comp reliably wins the match. |

It can be very useful as part of an arithmetic analysis of a strat, by generating possible combinations and conditions that are worth looking at, but it also generates false positives and false negatives.
Quoting its numbers without checking the battle yourself doesn't really accomplish much.

There's a "Test" button when you have Pet Battle Scripts open in a fight. When you click that, it should show you the next action without performing it. Where does it look different from the written strategy?

I have been using this strat myself since start of the expansion and in fact used it half an hour ago on an alt. It has never failed for me.
There are no valid substitutes or alternate breeds.
Are you sure you followed the instructions correctly?

But.
AFAIK, Tempe has an equal chance to use any ability in his first round. And a crit is a 5% chance. So that would be a 1-in-60 event.
If we say it could happen on either Tempe's first round or second, we would have a 1-in-30 chance.
Possible, but very unlikely to happen 4 times in a row.

Tempe's first attack was Conflag and it crit for 950 and killed my Emmi on her first round.
I followed the strat as listed and still won handily.
So that 1-in-60 chance on its own is not enough to spoil the strat.

Ikky, Hydraling, Chrominius
Ikky destroys Swaggy, and debuffs Tempe. If Tempe doesn't use his damage shield, he can even survive long enough to debuff Dustie, but this is rare.
Hydraling destroys Tempe, and uses Whirlpool on Dustie.
Chrominius debuffs and obliterates Dustie, even if Whirlpool doesn't happen.
