Isn't she cute? And easy to beat! That sounds kind of wrong, sorry. There are plenty of pets that can solo this fight, mostly dragonkin or the famous Emperor Crab for example.

That's not true. As long as the Dragonling dies with the Explode at the end, the 2 leveling pets will split the XP. Mine just got 4023 xp --> level 19, and 4882 xp --> level 15 on 11/12/2022.

Not sure whether or not something changed recently but I've failed on this 3 times out of the past 7 attempts. One was my MPD died to Tally which does happen on very rare occasions (so I just had to redo the fight) but the other 2 had my MPD using Bombing Run at the wrong time and killing Doodle with the bomb. I've changed to a different script so hopefully that fixes it but seems really odd to kill Doodle with another ability other than Explode (so no experience for my leveling pets) twice in just a few days time.

I've had issues with the script not cooperating sometimes so I do this one manually, but I had no problems today following the listed priorities! Breath Pixiebell down, bombing run on Doodle, Breath Tally down, and you're in the clear.

Excellent script. I've been using it since it was posted. I've seen it fail exactly twice in that time. What happens is Doodle ends up with around 600 health and Dragonling gets a crit with Breath and Doodle dies. If you add one line to the script it takes care of this:

I was just about to come post the same update Rintrah! It's a small chance for failure, but it can happen. Adding the additional clause for Bombing Run (I've mine set to 690 instead of 700 since that's the max Doodle can loose in a single hit, meaning Doodle can take a Breath at 700 HP) makes the script failproof.

Still working flawless. Never lost a battle, my MPD just get near death doors (~100HP).

but ... did they nerf the xp? Today my first battle after the release I got only 1-2k xp per pet without any buffs, that was enough to get one level.

XP is split between the two pets. Which means it'll take you the same number of total battles to level two pets at a time. Let's say it takes 4 battles to get 1 pet to 25. If you're trying to level 2 pets it'll take you 8 battles. There is generally no benefit to having two level pets in a strat.

As for this script, the whole point in an Explode strat is that you don't bring the level pets in.

After new patch not working for me, MPD dies after stampede (Tally). So I have to use the only ability that my lvl 1 pets have to kill Doodle. I tried Darkmoon Zeppelin with Missile, Explode, Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt on start and then when available. Since then (doing this battle daily for pet lvling) works perfect.

hello guys, any idea why when i click write script, nothing is coming up ? it was working perfectly before prepatch, i even re installed tdbattlepet script and tdbattlepet rematch, but nothing. also another problem- before prepatch when i go into a zone, the pets of that zone will be loaded on the side to see which i caught and which not etc, it's not doing it anymore. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

TD was outdated. A couple of days ago it did get an update, try reinstalling it now, should work ok, as I am using it right now just fine.The other thing you are describing sounds like another addon, Pet Tracker. Again, it was out of date, works fine for me now after update.

the import my pets in game works but is not reflecting accurately in the stratagies sections.for example, The strat showed i only had a level 2 pet when In fact I had that plus a level 25 of the required pet.

You need to update the TD Script to the one posted by Prudentius for the Explode version. The current script does not follow the strat, and uses bombing run first, which is completely wasted because pixiebell dies on the round it would hit.

I've never written a script, but it looks like the problem is in the 2nd last line, which uses Bombing Run if the first pet's health is < 222. Since Bombing Run does only 148 damage when cast, this fails to kill Pixiebell and instead goes of on Doodle before Tally swaps in, which often results in Tally killing the MPD.
Seems like this should be changed to:

It worked for me as intended. I'm not sure why you swapped in your lvl 1 pets when using Explode? Just execute the algorythm and you'll be fine.

As an alternative strategy with Mechanical Pandaren Hatchling, you can run it with 1, 1, 2 as follows:

Turn 1: Decoy
Turns 2-4: Breath until Pixiebell is dead.
Turns 5-6: Rotate in the leveling pets.
Turn 7: Bombing Run.
From here, just use Breath on Tally. The Mechanical Pandaren Hatchling will more often than not die, but when it does, it will auto-rez and the Bombing Run will complete, taking out Tally. From here, just use Breath on Doodle until it dies.

With Explode strategies you don't need that. The surviving pets count as active - and if that's only your leveling pet(s), they get the experience ^^

Oily Slimeling (2,1,1)can most always solo this fight. Even if it dies a backup pet will easily finish it (using an Emerald Proto Welp (2,2,2,)),and that leaves you room to lvl any lvl 1+ pet. Because of the leveling ability I thought I'd put in the late advice alternative. rotation: Pixiebell: Expunge, Corrosion, Absorb until Expunge is ready. Pixiebell dies. Doodle: (does nothing and that is key) Absorb, Absorb and on the third round she sill take a Nap "zzz" . Tally enters: Expunge, Corrosion, Absorb until Expunge is avl or until Tally dies. Some times Tally manages to take out the slimeling, but that is more rare. After Tally dies, Doodle returns and this is when you bring in your lvl 1 pet for a couple hits (I just like to make sure they do damage) then bring out any pet to finish off Doodle. I do not split my xp and during the pet battle week and with my safari hat..this takes my pet from lvl 1 to lvl 19 in one fight. I think I've got the rounds right, so have fun.

I use Infinate Whelpling Brightpaw and any carry pet
Start with 3 Tail Sweeps. Pixiebell DIes. Bring in Brightpaw. use Prowl then Arcane Dash.
Tally will comes in and is one shotted. Switch in your level pet and then take out Doodle with either pet.

I run MPD with 2 level pets.

Breath x2, Bombing Run vs Doodle (bombing with hit on Tally)
Breath til Tally dies.
Doodle comes back, swap in both pets, then back to MPD. Breath til dead.

That's exactly the strategy as outlined, but with Explode it's considerably faster because you don't need to swap the level pets around :D

OK, today my daughter was talking to me while I did this fight and I forgot to swap my level pet in before I exploded my Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling. I had 2 level 25's and one leveling pet on my team. When the fight was over I still had a level 25 pet and my leveling pet left and neither of them entered the fight. My leveling pet still gained 13760 EXP and leveled from 16 to 25. Not sure if its a glitch or if Blizzard changed it, but I like it.

Please let me know if anyone can confirm this. I'll check it tomorrow as well.

It's not a glitch. You don't need to swap the level pets in because Explode gives XP to any sub-level 25 pets that are alive at the end of the fight. It's the beauty of Explode when used as a last move.

I always thought if there was a level 25 still alive after explode that the level pet would not get the EXP. Well I changed the guide so there is no swapping at all. I'll have to check a few other guides to see if they need to be changed as well. WoW pet battles for what, 6 years now and you can still learn a thing or two.

Yes this also depends on if the enemy is strong or weak to the attack or has a shield of some kind that blocks some damage. But here there is none of that, so 560 should be the correct amount. We'll change it to reflect this.

Nope, beasts and elementals still get identical damage. Think of it as having no associated source. :) I can also recall it skipping the reductions, as of Beasts of Fable, though not sure about power debuffs on the performer itself.
And for MPD it's indeed 560.

I use two MPDs here, both with 1/1/1. Just spam Breath until Pixiebell dies -- if she has less than 148 health, I just use Bombing Run to finish her off, otherwise breath and hit Bombing Run when Doodle comes out. Spam breath through Doodle, then until Tally is dead (Bombing Run will hit Tally).

Explode when Doodle comes back, then switch to second MPD. Send out a second Bombing Run, then Explode. If that doesn't kill Doodle, then your level pet might have to get in a few hits. Skip the second MPD to boost two level pets -- but I just like seeing the huge boost to a single one, personally. xD

Another alternative tactic, which is personally my favourite, always works, and is pretty fast!

Bronze Whelpling 2/1/2 + Leveling pet + Optionals (read below)

Early Advantage > Tail Sweep until 1st enemy pet is dead.

vs 2nd enemy, when Early Advantage is on CD- swap to level 1 pet

then back to Bronze Whelpling and follow priority Early Advantage > Tail Sweep


vs 3rd pet u can do two things.

1- do exactly the same rotation (sometimes Bronze Whelpling has enough HP to solo 3rd enemy pet, sometimes not)

2- swap to one from below (or many, many other hard hitting pets vs beasts)

a) Menagerie Custodian -> Shock and Awe -> Ion Cannon (probably the fastest)
b) Iron Starlette - Wind-Up -> Supercharge -> Wind-Up
c) Sunreaver Micro-Sentry - Supercharge -> Haywire
d) Mechanical Axebeak - Haywire -> Alpha Strike


*you can use Arcane Storm on CD twice vs Elek, to drop Beast pet HP and then just swap to Menagerie Custodian and Ion Cannon, but after testing different variations several times i feel like it is waste of time.

**also using Arcane Storm vs 1st enemy pet (like i used to do) greatly reduces your chance to solo whole fight with Bronze Whelpling, because then he drops to very low HP and gets 1 shoted by Beast.

I'm curious why you switch out when Doodle comes in. Since when Doodle sleeps he gets switched out inevitably, you can do a bit of prep-work for Tally and switch when Doodle is the only one left.

The fastest one-pet strategy I found so far uses the Servant of Demidos:
Turn 1: Siphon Anima
Turn 2+: Magic Sword until Pixiebell is dead
Against Doodle:
Turn 1: Siphon Anima, it should be ready by now. Magic Sword otherwise.
Turn 2: Lightning Shield
Turn 3: Magic Sword or Siphon Anima, if it wasn't ready in Turn 1.
Against Tally:
Magic Sword. She will then kill herself with the Lighning Shield :)
Against Doodle:
Swap in your leveling pets and finish off Doodle with Magic Sword.

I use to swap pets after Tally's death, just in case. :)
I wouldn't swap to second pet anyway because then swapping again to MPD costs you a turn when Tally arrives.

I used P/S Iron Starlette for lulz and it worked, however, it would need her Failsafe turn. It's quite long TBH.
1. Wind-Up
2. Toxic Smoke spam until Pixie goes down
3. Doodle time, use Supercharge when they're going to take a nap (this is when Moonlight weather's 1 turn left).
4. Tally arrives, you serve them a tasty ironware dealing 2577 damage. :P

I couldn't test this because I have no Azure Whelpling.

The "standard" MPD strat is:
Decoy + 4 Breaths to dispose of Pixiebell
When Doodle comes out, swap to Carry Pet
Immediately swap back to MPD.
Bombing Run, then Breath until Tally dies.
Breath poor Doodle to death. I always feel sorry for him. :(
