PET NEWS - BY DRAGONSAFTERDARK
It’s that time of year again! Pumpkins are glowing, fingers are sticky from candy, and the Headless Horseman is setting everything on fire. Hallow’s End went live today, and with it comes the opportunity for all those wonderful holiday pets. Though we haven’t gotten any new ones to add to our roster this year, this is the perfect opportunity to farm for the ones you might be missing, or perhaps to sell on the auction house.

Hallow’s End boasts a whopping 9 pets that come from a variety of sources. Below, we’ll give you some pictures and details on how to complete your spooky menagerie.

Cageable: No

This pet is obtainable only through an 8-part quest chain.

Horde players will need to speak with Zidormi to revert Tirisfal Glades to before the Battle for Lordaeron. Then, head over to the Ruins of Lordaeron above Undercity and speak with Candace Fenlow. She’s in a tent, tending to her cauldron to the right of the Orphan Matron.

Alliance players need only stroll out to the front gates of Stormwind to find Gretchen Fenlow, who is also tending a cauldron.

The starting quest for both factions will be called: A Friend in Need

Cageable: Yes

This pet can be bought with 150 Tricky Treats from the pet vendors: Woim & Pippi.

Woim can be found in the Ruins of Lordaeron for Horde players, and Pippi can be found outside the gates of Stormwind for Alliance players.

**The Feline Familiar is a pet that counts toward your Crazy for Cats Achievement!**

Cageable: No

For this pet, you’ll need to head out to your garrisons in Lunarfall (Alliance) or Frostwall (Horde). You’ll also need to have a level 3 garrison. Once there, you’ll find a goblin vendor named Izzy Hollyfizzle who sells a wide variety of items.

However, to capture this pet you’ll need to purchase the item Creepy Crawlers for 5 Spooky Supplies. Spooky Supplies are obtained by completing daily quests offered by the orc Orukan, who can be found next to Izzy Hollyfizzle.

Once you get your five Spooky Supplies, purchase the Creepy Crawlers from Izzy and use the item. It will be consumed on use, and after that you should see pets have now spawned in your garrison for catching!

Another way to do this is to find someone who already has the decorations in their garrison, and see if they’ll let you pop in for a visit and some pet battling!

-- The Loot-Filled Pumpkin that spawns for higher level players after the defeat of the Headless Horseman

-- Handful of Treats obtained from Candy Buckets around the world

Anyone aware of any strategies that require more then 1 of the same pet from this list. Wondering what I should try to double/triple up on this year :)

Not particularly aware of any strategies, but I'd say go for Naxxy. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Naxxy is the pet with the most health in the game. Also I just really like the pet :D

i won't say there are NO pet strategies that require more than one of any pet on this list, but there no MAJOR ones - you can DEFINITELY progress to 'end-game' in pet battles with only one of all of these pets; several of them i've never even used. As far as "love" is concerned, how awesome is the name 'Widget the Departed'?!? (edited)

Spectral Spinner - needed for Frasabi (Stratholme) and useful in other fights - has Blinding Poison

If you do a search for the pet on this site (in the search box), the pet page has a strategies tab where you can see all the strategies where that pet is used. There is even a column that shows breed requirements. Cool feature!

Note that all garrison pets become available at once,, you do not need to repeat the daily quests more than once to get there.

For the garrison pets. They are available year round if you have the decorations enabled

...and they are GREAT for pet leveling; they're all within 50-ish yards of each other, they're all 23-25, there's at least 10 up at any one time, & the range of classes is limited - pretty much always an Undead to start & either Flying or Critter as one or both of the back-up pets, so you basically only need the same one or two pet-leveling strats.

If you're not using Trainers & Masters to power-level your pets, this is the next best way to do it: pop on your Safari Hat, roll out the 50% XP Pet Treat, & burn thru your garrison!. (edited)
