Substitutes:

1
Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

High XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

I used bigglesworth (1 2 1) as second pet since I didn't have any of the suggestions. It worked out very well but probably because I got 2 hguge crit (including one on ice tomb). And my blighthawk was uncommon. So yeah, maybe theres something there

Since the RNG leads to various fail conditions needing you to quit, I developed this:
TD Script

use(Lift-Off)
use(Ghostly Bite) [enemy(#2).active]
use(Slicing Wind)
quit [self(#1).dead & enemy(#1).active]
change(Voodoo Figurine)
use(Rot) [self.round=1]
use(Immolate) [self.round=2]
use(Shadow Slash) [!enemy(Red Wire).active]
use(Immolate)
use(Claw) [self.round=1]
use(Ancient Blessing)
use(Claw)

If Gulp crits, especially on turn 1, forfeit and start over. If Gulp frogs you and you're around 400 life, forfeit and start over. VERY RNG dependent fight, thus the skull icon on the list.

BRPedersen wrote on 2018-11-27 14:22:01

My Blighthawk was too low level, so I used a Ghost Maggot (1, 1, 1) instead.
Started the fight with Stench followed by Chomp. Once I saw the maggot only had 1 hit left before going down, I used Survival to gain an extra round before resurrecting.

Beat the fight on my first try, but dependent on RNG to make Gulp's Swarm miss.

infested bear cub 2*1

Pidget wrote on 2018-06-23 20:52:46

I created an awesome strat to this:
Bone Serpent (221), Infected Bear Cub (221), and Doom Bloom (121)

Bone Serpent vs Gulp
Use Call Darkness
Use Nocturnal Strike
Use Consume; Gulp should be dead

Egcellent comes out, the Bone Serpent may get one Consume off before it dies
Infected Bear Cub vs Egcellent
Use Roar
Use Maul, if Egcellent Feigns here, switch to Doom, if not
Use Roar, switch to Doom when Egcellent Feigns

Doom vs Red Wire
Use Stun Seed
Use Healing Wave
Use Lash x2 and Stun Seed hits
Use Healing Wave

Doom should be able to finish off Egcellent,
if not, just switch to the Infected Bear Cub to finish the job

Mark wrote on 2018-06-24 07:05:31

Unfortunately, the Doom Bloom is elemental, not undead.

Pidget wrote on 2018-06-24 17:21:56

Sorry, when I did this, I was using some of the filters of Rematch and at times, they mess up. I have had this happen a lot and I missed this one. Sorry once again, Mr. BIgglesworth or Lt KT could be via options for the last pet.

Spirit Crab [1,2,2] worked well for me in place of Voodoo Figurine.

Aeryl wrote on 2016-10-18 20:43:28

My undead collection is a bit thin, so here's what I used:
Ghastly Kid 1, 2, x
Mr. Bigglesworth 1, 2, 2
Fossilized Hatchling 1, 1, 1
1. Ethereal on cooldown (should avoid the Mudslides)
2+ fill with Hoof
Mr. Bigglesworth
1. Claw Egcelent until he feigns Death
Red Wire comes in
1. Frost Nova
2. Howling Blast
3+ Claw until Mr. Bigglesworth dies
Fossilized Hatchling
1. Claw
2. Ancient Blessing after the first big hit from Red Wire
3+ Claw until Red Wire kills himself and then keep using it to kill a half dead Egcelent

Krypti wrote on 2016-11-07 12:38:35

This strat worked beautifully. Mr. Bigglesworth died after Frost Nova/Howling Blast vs. Red Wire, so I brought in Fossilized Hatchling early, but his hits against Red Wire were strong enough that Red Wire never triggered Armageddon.

Aleksandra wrote on 2017-05-14 05:45:51

Excellent strategy and not so tough despite the skull there ;)
I don't have Fossilized Hatchling so I used Son of Sethe (121) instead.

platetits wrote on 2017-01-14 23:18:17

Using a modified version of this strat and got it on first attempt.

Jade Owl 1/2/1, Stink Rot 2/1/1, Fossilized Hatchling 1/1/1.

Use Lift Off.
Use Slicing Winds til Jade Owl died.
Bring in Stink Rot
Use Rot
Use Infected Claw til resurrection round.
Use Corpse Explosion
Bring in Fossilized Hatchling (Egcellent should already be out for 2 rounds or so)
Use Claw until you're down BY 500 HP
At minus about 500 HP, use Ancient Blessing
Use Claw until dead.

Jade Owl is a magic pet, and will therefore not work for this part of the achievement.

Subbed in a bone serpent and it went fine

Grommet wrote on 2016-12-10 11:04:43

Didn't have all pets so I used:

Blighthawk (as described above).
When Blighthawk died I brought in Mr Bigglesworth using Claw on Eggbert.
When he feigns, build Ice Barrier and do Ice Tomb next round. Let Red Wire destroy the Ice Wall and use Claw again.
When Ice Tomb hits he swaps back to Eggbert. Use claw till Eggbert dies.
I managed to get an Ice Tomb up before Mr Bigglesworth died. Then used Unborn Valkyr as third pet. Curse of Doom and then Shadow Shock till Red Wire blows himself up.

Vivien wrote on 2017-03-27 11:33:53

Mr. Bigglesworth as a sub for the Voodoo Figurine worked well for me. I used the Fossilized Hatchling as the third pet (as listed above). Both the Blighthawk and Mr. Biggles died sooner than listed in the strat, but I was still able to win the fight.

DVL wrote on 2017-02-03 22:37:47

Used Widget (121), Vampiric Batling (112), Frostwolf Ghostpup (222). Call Darkness with Widget, then switch to Vampiric Batling and use Nocturnal Strike. Then use Bite and Leech Life on the next two turns for the first kill. Your battling will die on the next turn, so keep casting Bite against the critter enemy until your pet has finished its resurrection turn. Switch back to Widget and use Return to Darkness and Pounce. At some point the mech will be switched in. Switch to the ghostpup and use Ghostly Bite which will stun you. The mech will destroy itself. Finish off the critter with ghostpup in resurrection and Widget if need be. There's a little luck involved with the Darkness.

This strategy worked perfectly!

Nice robust strat. Not much to go wrong apart from frog RNG.

I also found that Sen'jin Fetish works as well as Voodoo Figurine. For people without either, I also found that a Fragment of Anger will fill that slot. Soulrush and Spiritfire Beam on Egcellent, and spam Seethe on Red Wire. I only tested it once, though, so no guarantees.

Hi, I really like your site and I use it quite often. can you maybe do something about the language always being german when I load this site ? I play the game in english and I would like to read the strategies in english as well. It would be nice if my prefered language would be saved instead of always falling back on my IP address.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-24 09:13:48

Subbed Sen''jin Fetish for Voodoo figurine.

Azrulian wrote on 2016-12-23 16:41:16

Worked the first try, and I got "frogged" too, didnt make any difference on the finish. Only chance I can see it failing if you get frogged is maybe if you get crit on the last 2 toons.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-10 15:28:25

Didn't have my Blighthawk leveled so I used Mr. Bigglesworth (2,1,1) first. A bit of experimenting on when to use which abilities and I finally got it on my 3rd attempt, Ice tomb, barrier, then pounce until he dies. It was tempting to barrier the mudslide but this worked out better in the end. The other 2 pets worked perfectly for the rest of the fight.

Jen wrote on 2016-12-07 01:17:59

Worked fine, Only needed Fossilized for 1 hit to kill final pet. Was actually surprised this was tagged as hard.

ShadowRose2k wrote on 2016-12-06 20:01:47

Spirit Crab (1/1/1), Mr. Bigglesworth (1/1/1) Any lvl 25

Start with Spirit Crab, Shell Shield followed by Snap. Refresh Shell when 1 turn remains. Should be able to kill first pet easy. 2nd comes in you should get a few hits with Snap. Your crab will likely die here.
Bring in Mr. Bigglesworth.
Ice Barrier followed by Ice Tomb. Then Spam claw until Tomb hits. This will stun and forch a swap back to Egcelent. Claw to finish Eg off. Bomb swaps back in.
Cast Ice wall, and spam claw. This should be enough to finish him off.

kruppe wrote on 2016-12-06 04:38:30

use this with blightbreath, scourge whellpling, fosilised hatchling,
only cleansing raing rain and then spam dreadfull breath

Caet wrote on 2016-11-25 05:35:28

Arrkhal and tarc on WOWhead had a suggestion in the comments that worked perfectly for me. Blighthawk 2/2/1 as shown here, Mr Bigglesworth 1/2/2, claw until feign, FN and HB on Redwire. Bigglesworth should absorb his explosion in Undead round, but if he doesn't (mine didn't) the fight is still easily finishable with Spectral Spinner 2/2/2 via BP and SS

Anonymous wrote on 2016-11-07 07:17:54

Hi, I suggest using a Cursed Birman and/or Widget the Departed. Prowl and Spirit Claws kills the Critter sometimes in one blow, Call Darkness works great against the Mech Pet.

Only note that I would make is that if you get "frogged", go ahead and just restart the fight.

Archelirion wrote on 2016-10-08 03:33:44

Bone Serpent: 1 2 2
Infected Fawn: 1 2 1
Mr. Bigglesworth: 1 1 1
Same strategy as Alt 2, i just didn't have a weebomination and the Infected fawn worked like a charm!

Anonymous wrote on 2016-10-02 02:09:20

If you move the blighthawk's liftoff to the first turn, there is no need to restart this fight. The lift off avoids a round of the frog's swarm, and you take less damage. I finished the fight easily this way, with health to spare to ghost bite Egcellent.

Fidempse wrote on 2016-10-02 05:42:11

This worked absolutely perfectly for me after one RNG attempt where the frog's first hit crit, thank you :)

Very nice idea! Thank you I'll change the strat accordingly!

Myzvale wrote on 2016-09-28 21:35:30

A 1-2-1 Bone Serpent worked fine in place of Blighthawk, just use Call Darkness > Nocturnal Strike > Bone Barrage on the frog. Switch pets after his ressurection since he'll have no moves on CD anyway, then you can use him later if needed.

Tyrsa wrote on 2016-10-02 01:20:20

I could not get this to work, Bone Barrage always missed a few hits making my serpent die too soon.

Sunflower wrote on 2016-09-29 19:01:17

I didn't have a Blighthawk leveled, so I hunted around for something that could work. I tested out Widget the Departed for this.

WtD: 1/2/1
- to ensure Call Darkness went up after Mudslide, I waited for the AI to use it, which means I used Pounce, then Call Darkness, then Spectral Strike, and then spammed pounce. It worked out much the same as with the Blighthawk! Dead at the same time (due to undead racial proc'ing so it survived to that crucial last round). I don't know if this was luck or if it's worth repeating, but there it is.

After that, I proceeded as normal, above. (It might also be worth noting that you can probably replace Voodoo Figurine with Senjin Fetish. I used this and it went perfectly with the strategy above.)

Voodoou wrote on 2016-10-01 23:43:22

You can find Blighthawks at max lvl around Bradensbrook in Val Sharah.

Marisol wrote on 2016-09-29 05:55:49

Got an unlucky crit the first time, but it worked on the second try.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-09-28 20:18:50

Used a P/S Blighthawk, worked first try and exacly in your order, thanks :)

Jeack wrote on 2016-09-16 06:32:35

I used some of my pvp pets for this (I don't have voodoo or hatchling leveled...)

Blighthawk (used as stated above)
Weebomination - 2,1,X
Frag of Anger - 2,X,1

Just spam 1 on weebom, and comsume corpse to heal. Once he dies bring out frag of anger and spam seethe vs red wire, and soul rush>seethe vs egcellent.
